Any of the Iberostar hotels. There are 2 in Playa Del Carmen area, the Paraiso resort have 4 hotels in 1 and is huge, we got married there last year. The Tucan is much smaller and is better for couples, we went there in September 2005 and had 10 minutes of rain for the whole time we were there.

can anyone advise of which of the eco parks is best?? ie xcaret, xal ha etc, apologies for poor spelling!!
At that time Xcaret was better. We went back both trips and had a really good day out both times.
However, I see now that Xel-Ha has really been developed a lot since we were there and there is now a lot more to see and do. Xel-ha is near to Tulum so you can combine a bit of culture with the fun side of things.
I don't think you would be dissappointed with either. If you are going for two weeks then I would go for both!!
Check out their websites for prices and lists of activities. Both are good for snorkelling, Xel-Ha probably has the edge though, we saw a barracuda when we were there. And check out which activities appeal to you the most.
Just wondering when is the best time to go. It's our wedding anniversary in June and would like to go to Mexico to celebrate this - would it be scorching hot (or is that a silly question?! lol) or is there a "rainy season".
It will depend where you are talking about in Mexico.
We have been to Cancun in August, its hot and humid and Hurricane Dolly passed over Cozumel that gave us three days of storms and bad weather. The other days were lovely and there are shopping malls, with cinemas, bowling alleys, they even put an ice rink in one, so there was always something to do if the weather wasn't too good.
We went again end of May, Beginning of June. The weather was lovely, not so humid, just with the odd shower.
The hurricane season officially begins the first of June but in the early months of the season there are not many, towards Sept, Oct, Nov you would expect a higher proportion of rainy weather.
The early part of the year is very popular for people looking for winter sun.
We are hoping to go back next year, but it will be in July because of the school holidays. If I didn't have to worry about them then I would prefer to go May / June.
Hope this helps.
We have booked our weddingmoon at the Moon Palace 4-23sept.
