I don't think any of the rooms in the main MGM Grand have balconies.

No I don't think so either, just the Signature part as far as I know.

HEREare details of all the various accommodations at MGM Grand.

Apart from those already mentioned, the Skylofts have a Terrace, but are mega expensive.

For anyone who hasn't seen them, we have reviews HERE.

Hiya i have just booked this hotel for next July for a week. Is it a good hotel? Is it true if you offer a tip you can get upgraded when you arrive and how much to tip? Where are the best places to eat? Basically and good tips and advice would be appreciated as its my first time there.

Many thanks Donna :wink

The MGM Grand is MASSIVE. It has over 5000 rooms. We stayed there last year and really liked it.

The tip for upgrade on arrival is commonly known as the $20 trick. When you go to check in you fold a $20 note between your ID (usually a passport for UK people) and your credit card and ask nicely. " Do you have any good upgrades?"

If they offer you something for extra money, don't bother and take the $20 back, if the offer you an upgrade for free, then that is their tip.

Having said that, all of the rooms are supposed to be nice. Ours was last year and it was just a standard room.

Hi All
I have booked a package deal with Direct Holidays staying at the MGM Grand has anyone stayed there before, I am starting to get a bit worried as I have been reading reveiws and they state that the Emerald Rooms are very small and uncomftable so try to stay at the Grand Tower Rooms. Problem is we don't know which room we have got, all we know is that it will be a double queen as we have our son with us. We did request a room that over looked the strip but the travel agent said there would be no garantees where we would be. Can anyone help is there anything I can do to garantee a nice spacious room. Help
Thanxs Mands

We had a room at the MGM with 2 queen beds overlooking the strip a few years back. I'm afraid I cant remember the location but it was a basic room - we didnt upgrade or anything. It was very spacious and comfortable though. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

You could always ask nicely at check in whether they have any complimentary upgrades available. You may be lucky or you may just have to take what is included in the package.

I wouldn't worry about it as the term "small" is relative and most if not all US rooms are bigger than you would get in Europe.

Can anyone tell me is there an iron and hairdryer in all rooms at the mgm and also are there fridges in all rooms all the reviews I have read seem to be saying that there are not any fridges or mini bars is there anyone out there that can Please tell me different.
Thanks Mands
P.S Is there a way around this, as I have booked as a package deal with Direct Holidays so canot cancel and change hotels.

Have you asked to change? Moxt TOs will let you change hotel for around £15.
We had no iron or fridge in our room at the MGM. An iron was available form housekeeping and there was a laundry service.

Exactly how much ironing are you expecting to do? I am taking the bare essentials and will buy what I need in the malls. As for a hairdryer, pop one in the case, a travel one will do.

Hi,
Can anybody help me?

Off to the mgm grand in vegas at easter with my mum and a couple of friends (mum's 65th)

Could anybody let me know if they have mini fridges in the rooms as i am medication that needs to be kept cold.
Also hiring a car. Pretty confident driver over here on 3 lanes but hear its 6 lanes over there. Do they toot over there if you make a
mistake? Or are they as rude as some people over here :(

Any info would be grateful as its first time to vegas.

Can't wait 8 weeks to go ;)

Anty,

It depends what type of room you are staying in, I don't think their deluxe rooms have a mini-bar (fridge).

Don't worry about the driving, around Vegas it's not normally more than 3 lanes so you'll be fine.
They toot over there even if you DON'T make a mistake :D So take no notice.

Hi

Most hotels in Vegas don't have fridges, but I don't know the set up in MGM. I know that supposedly most hotels will give you a fridge if required for medical reasons, as when I asked about fridges in hotels on another forum this was brought up and became a bit of a debate over people saying they used the excuse that they had medication just to get one for their drinks!

I'm not sure if I've seen a mini bar in a hotel in Vegas, although I think maybe the Westin had one??? I think they just want people to get down into the casino and not sit and drink in their room!

I would call MGM and ask if they have fridges for medical purposes. I know TI has them and you can have one without having a medical need. It is in the same chain as MGM (MGM Mirage)

Yes I agree with Lesley, you can request one for medical reasons and they may or may not charge. You can either call them in advance, recommended, or request one at check in. You shouldn't have a problem getting one.

MGM Grand [as far as i,m aware] does not have rooms with balconies [Who'd need a balcony whilst your staying in the desert!!!!
Driving over there is a pleasure........They cruise down the strip ...... Not aim the damn thing like they do over here.
Enjoy LV You won't forget it :)

The Skylofts definitely have balconies. They are in the MGM Grand.

I have booked 4 nights at the MGM Grand at the end of April for $69, stay 3 nights, pay for 2 and that includes a $25 credit for restaurants and bars and 2 free drinks. Found on Fat Wallet.
