Hi I wonder if someone could give me some help of where to go next.
I purchased 3 Virgin flights with ebookers end of last year. The flights are to the states to see friends in July 2018.
I have since been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be in the middle of chemo when we are due to fly and have been advised not to go.
I rang ebookers to cancel the flights to be told they were non refundable, non transferable and cannot be cancelled.
If I had known this clearly, I would never have purchased them. They cost £2500.
i have contacted virgin who have refused to help, and my sainsbury’s Credit card who say due to my contract with ebookers they cannot help.
Feel totally stitched up.
Can anyone help?
The obvious thing to do in a situation like this is to claim against your travel insurance assuming you either have an annual policy or took out a single trip policy for this visit when you booked. On the other hand if you didn't take out any insurance then there is little that you can do other than try and appeal to Virgin's goodwill to perhaps allow you to postpone the flights to a later date? Or allow you to resell them ourself in return for an admin fee for changing the names?
