I booked a holiday through Barrhead travel yesterday but once searching the hotel online today I'm feeling rather duped.
We made our choice of accommodation based on the agent showing us brochures with pictures of waterslides in them. I have now discovered that those pictures are not of the hotel but from the waterpark that costs extra to gain access to and is not within the complex.
The travel agents are saying we are not entitled to our £301 deposit back if we cancel but I feel very angry as the kids picked this dearer hotel on the understanding they would have waterslides to play on.
I have also now found a nicer hotel which includes free water park access for the duration of the stay for only £66 extra than we are paying for the one we have booked on Jet2 website.
Do I have any options to get my deposit back?
Which hotel did you book? Did the hotel amenities list a waterpark? Or a nearby waterpark? Can you give us a link to the hotel on the website please?

The hotel is Festival Village, on the website it tells you Aquopolis Waterpark is 2km away.
We booked in store and made our booking based on the printed brochure we were shown.

You need to go back in and ask to see the brochure. Do you think it did list the Waterpark in its list of amenities?
At the same time they may say the onus was on you to check the brochure blurb. However, they may have a hotel which includes waterpark tickets & should let you swap hotel, for an amendment fee.
Let us know please & good luck.
After much back and forth conversations with the manager I have been given a full refund of my deposit and booked what I wanted elsewhere.
Well done Angela have a great holiday 😊
Many thanks for letting us know the outcome.
Please come back & let us know about your holiday & write a review of your accommodation 👍
