Hi, I am going to be staying at an apt on the Valle del Este resort from 3-10 June and am after any recommendations for food and excursions. There's three adults.
I've been to the area once before and enjoyed some great Spanish food in Mojacar Pueblo (the one specialising in the shoulder of lamb) and the excellent Argentinian steakhouse in Mojacar playa. However, I'd like more food reccos (not for egg n chips) and the names for the restaurants mentioned above if they jolt any memories. I like all sorts of food.
Recommendations for any lively bars would be great or is it too early in the season?
How much (approx) would a taxi be from the resort to the main drag? Are there many taxis about?
Thanks a lot!
EDIT: just to add that I have read through the threads below and have cherry picked some reccos so really want the "must sees, eats and dos".
Dont recall names but remember seeing some fantastic fish restaurants at the far end of the playa in Garrucha. If you like fresh fish and are staying SC you can get some fab fish to cook in the Large supermarket in Garruacha. I think it is called the Merraconda.
We'll definitely get to the fish restaurants and purchase some. I think the apt has a bbq so game on!

You were nearly right its called Mercadona.
The Argentinian is called "La Cabana".
A good leg or shoulder of lamb can also be had in Bedar at the "Miramar" (Share between two) and their Paella is said to be good.
The livliest bars in Mojacar at the moment seem to be the "Irish Rover" and/or "Skandalos" There are a couple of others on the Commercial Centre roundabout too that are busy.
Have a good holiday,John.
