Can anyone tell me what plane will I be on if I am traveliing from Gatwick to Sanford on Thursday 13th of October at 9.15am?

Also if you could let me know if premium seats are available on this plane that would be great,

Hi Rob, the MON349 from LGW-SFB on the 13 Oct is operated by an A330-200. More information on this flight can be found in my reply above to Lisa regarding flights to SFB on the A330.

It appears at the moment that there are seats available in Premium. If you would like to take advantage of these though then I would strongly recommend that you do not leave this until the day of your flight. I have done this flight quite a lot the past few months and the Premium cabin is often full. You should be able to purchase the upgraded seats through the same travel company you booked your original seats with. However, if you do decide to risk leaving it until the day of travel then I can tell you the price to purchase these on board is £140 per person each way.

If you have any further questions the please feel free to ask. Enjoy your holiday ;)

Partyboy thanj you very much. Would row 1 have leg room and window seat? And also any idea which a321 it is as I keep a log of which ive been on before :-) thank you

Row 1 does have legroom and has a window seat. The only (small) gripe with row 1 is that you can't stretch your legs out because there is a cabin wall in front of you on this row and there is emergency equipment in the hat bins above you so your bags will need to be stowed a couple of rows back. Any hand luggage in this row must be stowed in the hat bins for take off and landing. My recommendation would be rows 2-6, but that is merely my personal preference.

I'm afraid I don't know which reg aircraft it will be yet. I could find out for you but not until Wednesday as that's when I would next be able to check. However, I can say that th the moment it appears that the A321's operating from BHX at the moment are G-OZBF, -BH AND -BO so it may well be one of these. Even the one that is planned to operate it at the moment may well end up being changed so you're best waiting for the reg until the day you travel.

adsuk,

Row 1 on the A321 has a window and is extra legroom (bulkhead). You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including a link to the aircrafts seating plan. There isn't a specific aircraft (registration) associated with any particular flight. Aircraft are moved around all the time.

EDIT: Partyboy posted at the same time!

Mobiles phones must be switched off for take off and landing but can be used during the flight provided they are switched to flight/offline mode.

We are due to fly to Tenerife a week next Monday but my wifes uncle has passed yesterday and there is a strong chance that the funeral will be on the Monday of our flight - she will attend the funeral. I will go to Tenerife on my own as we are there for 5 weeks and wait for her to come over.

Any idea if Monarch are a caring airline and will allow her to defer the flight (if needed) and rebook for later in the week, if seats are available. Anyone know if an uncle is classified as a close relative or not ?

I will call them if the date is that Monday but thought I would seek any experiences you may have regarding this type of situation.

Time is not on my side as I'm off to Spain next Wednesday until Sunday - yes I know thats the day before we go to Tenerife ! If the funeral is late next week I'm not off to Spain and we both go to the funeral and this query becomes irrelevant - but I like to try and cover all options.

Regards, Chris

Sorry to hear about your problem. If it is a scheduled flight amendments can be made up to 3 hours prior to travel, subject to paying the new fare cost and any amendment fees. Information is on Monarch's website.
http://www.monarch.co.uk/terms/conditions-of-contract

Whether an uncle is classified as a close relative is down to the individual insurer's (I presume that is what you are referring to?)

sunaddict,

thanks for the info. The flight is scheduled ie ZB. Cant see too much detail regarding flight amendments on the link but thanks anyway - will pursue when we have some more detail regarding dates etc. We have both checked in for the outbound flight.

The 'close relative' ref is that Monarch allow you to freeze the original booking and rebook at a later date, presumably subject to fees etc etc.

Although we live 'up north' the funeral will be 'down south' and I can get a flight for my wife, one way, from Luton to Tenerife with Ryanair for under £29 - inc all fees, checkin taxes etc etc !!! Yes thats £29 !!!!

Regards Chris

update Ryanair flight now £43 - chance missed !

They do state that changes cannot be made to your flight reservation after checking in. I'd forgotten they would hold the value of the flight in the case of a bereavement of a close family member. Don't know what they class as close though.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.

That has been a great help thank you! :O) I was talking to a cabin crew member on a recent flight about extra leg room seats on my upcoming flight, she wasn't sure which it would be but expected it to be either an A300 or an A330 so I am glad you have been able to help.
