MAN-AGP-MAN (ZB654/5) are operated by an Airbus A321-200.

Hi!
Flying yet again with Monarch from Manchester to Larnaca on November 30th (ZB640) and returning a week later (ZB641). On looking at the seat plans for these flights to see whether to prebook a seat , I see that they're an unusual configuration-?? I've never flown in a 'wonky' 2-4 at the front rows which then becomes 3-3 to near the back and then 2-3 -!! :que I now can't figure out where the best seats to prebook are now (extra-leg and/or standard) - can anyone help me choose please -?

Thanks,
Jane

dolphin1790,

The seat plan looks fine to me, it's an Airbus A330-200. Did you look at the whole plan? When you look on the screen, you need to scroll across (go to the end of the seat plan). The aircraft is a wide body with 9-abreast seating in the economy cabin so the box isn't wide enough to show the whole aircraft at once. I think that's why you're thinking the seating is 'wonky'. Extra legroom seats are located at the front of the aircraft as the aircraft's premium cabin is sold as extra legroom (row 1 D/E/F and 2-7 A/B-D/E/F/G-J/K), and rows 8 B/C/H/J, 30 B/C-D/E/F-H/J and 37-43 A/B and J/K (only).

Hi Darren!!

Whoops - didn't realise the plane was THAT big!! Thanks for the quick reply - is there a good standard seat to buy for just myself on this arrangement -?
Thanks!!

dolphin1790,

Seating is personal preference really, they're all much of a muchness in their respective cabins. All have the same basic facilities. All I'd say is try and avoid seats near to the toilets to avoid disturbance. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link beow).

Just wondered if anyone could shed any light. Booked on some flights to Tenerife next year (departing 11th August 2012 ZB568 MAN-TFS, returning 24th August 2012 ZB 565 TFS-Man). Just checked the website, however no flights are showing for any Saturday in August next year. Just wondered if anyone had any info before I contact Monarch.

Thanks

smh2005,

Just because a flight isn't showing on their website, doesn't mean it's not operating or has been cancelled. That time of year is busy so it's possible the flight is fully booked and has therefore been removed from the booking system. By all means contact Monarch to check, but if you've not receieved any information on changes, I wouldn't worry just yet.

Cheers Dazbo, was just a bit worried as all their Saturday flights for next year appear to have disappeared from the system

Not happy , had booked a break to Benidorm with Monarch holidays, Mar29th- Apr1st. Return flight was due to depart Alicante at 20:25 but for some reason the flight has been pulled. Now departing 12:10 when only going for 4 days its quite a chunk of our break taken away. :(

same here, I posted previously about our flight to Tenerife. We have now been told there are no Saturday flights and are now having to go on the Sunday, loosing a day of our holiday. Never had any problems with Monarch before, having flown with them several times, but seems to be problem after problem at the moment. :que :cry :think :(

Ok so I'm much against my better judgement I booked on a Monarch flight to Goa (through Cosmos package deal) travelling in Feb 2012.

I know my luggage allowance is 20 Kg + 5 Kg hand luggage.

My question is this.

What is Monarchs position regarding travelling with a fishing rod?

I know when I fly with Thomson I have to check it in as over sized luggage but there is no extra cost for this, just an extra desk to go to when checking in.

Is Monarchs position the same?

I have tried asking Monarch/ Cosmos but I get a different answer each time varying from it's classed as sports equipment so £ 40 extra return; through it's ok it's part of your allowance but there is an extra baggage item cost (no indication of what that might be though); to no problem as long as you don;t go over your 20 Kg allowance then its part of your allowance and there's no extra charge (as with Thomson).

Can anyone clarify this for me

southygirl,

MAN-AYT-MAN (ZB520/1) are operated by Airbus A321-200. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). In relation to your Manchester Airport query, I would agree with Steve. There's not much difference from The Exchange to either T1 or T2 so the distances involved are about the same. You have the moving walkways to make it easier that take you straight in to the check-in area.

Just read on another forum that all Monarch flights to Goa are stopping en-route in Kuwait from January 2012, Monarch website confirms this.

The flight numbers I'm aware of on this route are MON2490 (Gatwick Saturdays) and MON6382 (Manchester Fridays).

It's only the outbound flights and I think they've brought the flights times forward to compensate for the stop
i.e. MON2490 previous departure time 18:50, new departure time 17:25. Both landing at 10:00.

Anyone know the reason for this?
I'm just curious.

If a plane can fly non-stop inbound with headwinds (return flight is always longer on this route) why stop on the outbound leg?

Thanks
