Prettypollycat, I agree with what you say and I am aware of the situation you pointed out. I know from your comments on these forums that you are a well travelled flyer on the Monarch route to Goa.
I wouldn't want to insult your intelligence by pointing out that it is always a possibility with a chartered flight such as this one for scheduled times and aircraft to change, even at the last minute. Had the change been due to a technical problem with the aircraft then the same thing would have happened. I can only assure you that it certainly hasn't gone unnoticed by the company the great deal of inconvenience and upset caused to many of its passengers.
As a regular traveller on Monarch flights and someone with a very balanced view of the service they provide I would strongly encourage you to pass on your constructive feedback in writing to your tour operator for them to feed back to Monarch (if you booked this on the Monarch website then this will be Avro if it was a flight only booking, or Cosmos if it was booked as a package). Of course you can always send your comments direct to the airline as well but this is the usual process to follow and the 3 companies are in fact all part of the Monarch Group.
Although it will be of little consolation to those of you who had to experience the problems you did, I just wanted to point out one of the things that Monarch is doing to remedy party of the problem of flying on this aircraft in future. I hope your next experience of flying with Monarch goes a little more smoothly next time. :-)
I have booked Monarch tickets from London to Milan for three people: my boyfriend, a friend and myself. Only after, our friend said that maybe I should have added her middle name... I checked on the Monarch website and yes, I totally should have, they are clear about that. But the booking site (eDreams) doesn't have a field for middle name, and the first name field itself is pretty short.
Now, what can we do?
Should we change her reservation name online (100 £)? Or just try to check in and hope it will be fine? We are part of a large group and it would be embarrassing for her and us if the ticket turned out to be invalid just because it doesn't match with the name on her ID. The first and last name are correct...
Is it possible you are looking at the Advance Passenger Information (API) page ? Monarch indicate on that page that a middle name should be provided when entering API details, but only if shown on the passport.
David
Nothing to worry about. There isn't even a space to input a middle name on Monarch's website, and airline ticketing systems don't 'do' middle names. I've never put a middle name on a flight booking yet.
Yes, maybe I was on the API page Thank you and forgive me!!
No problem, you were right to check for your own peace of mind.
Afraid to say the aforementioned reconfig of the A300 will now not happen
I always ask each year so here goes again, we are flying 25th june gatwick to dalaman with monarch MON 1484 @07.20am
what type of aircraft will it be and are the first 10 rows extra leg room - as they were last year but i cannot remember the aircraft they used. ?
Also as it is an early flight will the aircraft be on stand from the sector the evening before and if so where is the aircraft due in from ?
i just like watching arrival times leading up to the day
also do you have a link for thier inflight mag or is it too early ?
Many thanks
Gregg
im flying from man to sanford on 11th july(MON307), am i right in assuming the aircraft will be an a330 and can you confirm that there will be extra space(26 seats removed) as in your comments on the 15/3.

You are right to assume the aircraft will be on an A330 but the seats were due to be taken off the A300 (not the A330). However, as you will see in my last post, this is no longer going to happen. If you read further back though, you will see other customers' comments that the seat pitch on the A330 is better than that on the A300 and more suited to long haul.

what is the seat pitch and width on the a330 from man to sanford(mon307) i have found several from 29" to 31", and are the flights as cramped as suggested by many. im also thinking of a premium seat if i can get one quickly enough, i booked via thomas cook on a package and fly on the 11th july when can i request primium and what will the cost be each
In Monarch premium, front row seats, can anyone tell me where the IFE screen is please? Armrest, bulkhead screen?
Thanks.

I'm afraid I have never actually measured the seat pitch on the aircraft but I believe it is 31". A few years ago, Monarch removed a number of seats from the A330 to allow for more legroom on this plane. You will have to enquire with Thomas Cook as to when they will allow you to book premium seats. I see no reason why you can't do this straight away but then I don't know if there is some arrangement between them and Monarch/Cosmos as to when those seats become bookable by Thomas Cook. For your reference though, last summer Monarch charged £140 each way per person to upgrade to premium seats on board. However, if you want the premium seats then I wouldn't suggest chancing it until the day you travel.
You may also want to consider extra legroom seats in the standard cabin. These are located at the emergency exits and towards the rear of the plane where the fuselage narrows. The config. changes to 2-3-2 at the rear and those seats of 2 on opposite sides of the plane are extra legroom. Last summer, these were charged on board at a cost of £40 each way per person. Again, I wouldn't advise the risk of leaving these until the day of travel.
If you click on "View My Media" on the left of my posts, there are some pictures of the cabin. The extra legroom seats in these pictures are indicated by the purple headrests (this has now changed to yellow). There are also pictures of the Premium cabin for you to see the diffference.

I have booked flights from Manchester to Dalaman for Friday 24th August this year, the flight number is saying ZB664 flying out at 7.15 in the morning but when I tried the do a search to compare the prices now I find that the flight seems to have disappeared from all websites that I try. I booked with on the beach and they do not show it either. Please don't say they have moved the flight as I paid extra to what i normally pay to have day flight there and back. help.............
