Hi, We're off to Cyprus next year. We have been many times with various tour operators, but this time we're going independant.
The hotel we are staying at does not accept credit cards, but we can transfer money either directly into their bank account or we can send a bankers draft. Whichever way we choose it has to be in CY£ or in January Euros.
Does anyone know of a good way of doing this? Most banks charge about £30 per transaction which is quite steep as we won't be paying it all in one go.
Many thanks.
a bankers draft may be better at least your bank will be able to track it

http://www.moneybookers.com will be handy. We use them often to send money to Australia.
We tried using them to send money to Cyprus, but they will only send euros there. I couldn't even send sterling from the UK to my sterling account in Cyprus. Well, I could, but I'd be clobbered with charges.

If you can wait until January for the euro, then firms like We tried using them to send money to Cyprus, but they will only send euros there. I couldn't even send sterling from the UK to my sterling account in Cyprus. Well, I could, but I'd be clobbered with charges.

many thanks for replies.
