Moraira is quiet and pretty and well situated for busier towns like Calpe, Javea and Denia. Not likely to come across chavs or lager louts, more likely fully paid up members of the British Legion. Lots of mature Brits settled there, all into amateur dramatics and the like.

Hi - have just rented a villa in Moraira for a week at the start of August, but due to some complications the villa owner can no longer supply me with a cot for our child (10 months). Does anyone know if you can hire a cot anywhere????

There is a company called Eurocare Mobility Services which specialises mainly in equipment hire for disabled holidaymakers. But they also provide other products such as cots, highchairs, pushchairs, car seats, etc.

I believe they are based in Alfaz del Pi and cover Benidorm and surrounding towns. It may be worth enquiring to see if they also cover the Moraira area.

Moraira is a great town with a lovely clean beach area with a bar/restaurant .

They have a market every Friday good to buy fruit/vegetables and maybe get a cheap pair of shoes.

There are numerous restaurants, English supermarkets and plenty of things to do without the hustle and bustle of a big town.

There are some bars at the European centre about 1 mile from centre of Moraira on the road to benitachell if you want some nightlife!

All in all a super place with very friendly people. We live in Cumbre del Sol just 5 mins drive from moraira. We have a villa and an apartment we rent.

Not much there as it is a small resort. However, there are lots of attractions within a short drive. Valencia is fairly easy to get to on the train too. Depends on the age group of the party.

Moraira is great to visit any time of the year. It is never heaving with people.
There is a large amount of ex pat that live there year round. It is great to walk along by the sea at the Marina. Sit in the square having a drink while the children play.

Many different restaurant and cafes.

We have been to Moraira on holiday for quite a few years now, and we are going back in a months time. The majority of holidaymakers own, or hire a villa or apartment, http://www.holiday-rentals.com will show you what's on offer. There are a few hotels, but you'll need to book them independently, as there are no package holidays to the town. The town is very cosmopolitan, and this is reflected in the different restaurants and bars in the town and surrounding area. There are a couple of nice beaches, L'ampolla in the town, and at El Portet just to the north. You can view the town beach on a webcam using the link on laguna9426 post..

I would recommend Moraira for a holiday to anyone who wants to re-charge their batteries by enjoying everything this lovely town has to offer, and isn't looking for non-stop 24 hours action as offered by the larger resorts.

I have a 4 year old going along with his grand parents and myself, Wife & 18year old.

So if there are things to do within a short driving distance that would be good to know also as we have never been to the area before.

It's been a few years since my two boys were 4 years old, but, there is a nice fairground in the town which will keep the four year old amused, plus the L'ampolla beach is nice and safe as well for young kids. On the road to Teulada there is a great go-kart track which the 18 year old will love. It's a bit dear, so make sure you have deep pockets!! Within 40 minutes or so there are the Falls of Algar, lovely on a very hot day, and Guadalest, which is a castle up in the hills, nice, but a bit touristy. Calpe is just down the coast road, and has a really nice promenade for walking, and it also has some nice shops. The Terra Mitica theme park, Mundomar,and Aqualandia are in or near Benidorm, which is about half an hour away by car from Moraira. There is a narrow guage railway which runs up and down from Denia to Alicante, the local station is in Teulada, a couple of miles up the road.

Forgot to mention the tourist office in Moraira which has loads of tourist pamphlets is just opposite the Pepe la Sal supermarket. The map in the everything Moraira link will point it out, its sign is a blue/red box with a palm tree in it, the staff are nice and helpful as well. I saw in your other post you'll be in Moraira the first weekend in March, so will we!!. I hope the El Sid pub is showing the Celtic v AC Milan Champions League second-leg match on March 7th, might see you there for a pint, or more if the 'Tic win (C'mon the Hoops)

We are considering booking what looks like a very nice apartment only 50 metres from the sea about 6km from Moraira. It has lovely views out to the Penon de Ifach rock. This would be for early May 2008!!

Any infomation on the area please? We have been to Altea and been up the coast to Denia, Javea etc but that was over 10 years ago.

We're spending Easter in a villa just outside Moraira , hoping for lots of .

We've never done a private villa holiday before and can't believe how much cheaper it is - and with a private pool!

Is anyone out there familiar with the area, can you reccommend the best eateries and places to go?

Lets start with the restaurants, have a look at http://www.everythingmoraira.com which has great listings for restaurants and bars in the Moraira area, it also has information on things to do, and places to go in the surrounding area. Some of our favourites are Axe Brasil on Calle Dr Catalayud which serves the best ribs I've tasted, The Deli on the same street has a very good fixed price evening meal, Gemisand on the road to Calpe is also very good. If you need a bacon and egg fix, El Sids just off the town square is very popular. The town is very cosmopolitan so has lots of nationality based restaurants, Spanish Tapas, Italian, Chinese, German etc, so you have loads of choice. If your villa has a BBQ, the local supermarkets, Pepe la Sal, and Mas y Mas have a good selection of meat and fish if you fancy that instead.
