Hi
Hope somebody can advise me here.
My younger sister, her husband and 6yo and 2yo are going to Menorca for 2 weeks in June for their first family holiday out of the UK.
She's been asking me what to take and I mentioned mosquito repellent.
We tend to go Far East/Indian Ocean on our trips and of course, this is the first thing you need to pack.
However, she's not sure if she'll need this at all.
Are there mosquitos and other biting insects on Menorca?
Thanks
Polly
I stayed in Menorca 3rd wk september 05 - no bits and with kids also
There were a few mosquitos, but I wouldn't say hordes of them.
It does depend a bit on whether their hotel has got air-cond, and they will be sleeping with the windows shut, or not.
Beengoing to minorca now for twenty five years, done about twenty visits in total and going again 21st june.having been bitten myself in past I always use autan whenever I visit as it can be very painful. You can also use anthisan creme to put on if you do get bitten by mossies or jelly fish.Hope this helps.P.S Minorca is lovely hope your sister gets a car and travels round the island to see all the lovely places.
I always use Autan and recommended this to my sister.
I'll make sure she gets some to be on the safe side.
Mary, they are all looking forward to the holiday and I'm sure they'll doing some travelling around.
Thanks again
