Hi Paultervit,

In my experience (albeit a few years ago) around the lake in front of the Hotel's Jupiter / Saturno & Lagamonte, they can be a problem in high season due to stagnant water. However, on occasions, its fair to say almost everywhere experiences some level of annoyance from the critters. Fact of life i'm afraid.

Take Jungle Formula (Boot's sell it) its fab in my experience.

It is undeniable that there is a mosquito problem in Alcudia. The lakes are one thing, the wetlands of the nature park Albufera another. I live next to Albufera - lucky old me when they are out and about! The past two years the problem, in my experience, has been greater in spring (and late autumn). In high summer, yes they are around but not to the same degree.

Room plug-ins and lotions like Jungle Formula are generally sufficient, but much depends on individuals as to how much they are bitten if at all. It's in your amino acids apparently! Personally, I don't have much of a problem, but that's just me.
