Thanks pipefitter,I used to work there 5 years ago and was surprised to read earlier notes about the bar being put up for sale.
We must have met then. My wife and I have been going to Benalmadena/Torremolinos at least twice a year since the mid 80s,always spending some nights at the Pickwick.

Hi,I lived in benalmadena from 2000 till 2005,I worked in Mr Pickwicks for 4 years and then in Blazing Saddles for 1 year.When I worked in Pickwicks I used to sell the bingo tickets,so I must have sold you yours.I do not come from Wales,I live in Luton Bedfordshire.I had many good times in Pickwicks,and then missed home and came back,and I have not regretted it once.I have not been back,but may go out there in 2010 .Let me know if you remember me.
Just tried to get into Mr Pickwick's at just after 9.30 tonight and it was out the door with not a seat to be had. Glad to see somewhere doing well as a lot of bars are really quiet.

Went to Mr Pickwick's tonight and again it was packed out. Only stayed for one game of bingo and a quiz as it was too crammed for comfort for us.

Just returned from Benalmadena. And it is with great sadness that I have to inform all, Brian is very ill and has returned to Britain for tests and treatment.
Dee has taken it very bad, but is coping well running the bar.
I know all of you who know Brian will wish him a good recovery.

Was in there on Saturday and no sign of Brian. There were two old dears running the place (presume one was Anne) and it was a bit quiet.
Called in to the Pickwick a few evenings the other week it was quite busy,Wed night more so as Albatros closes this night.
Enquired about Brian.He is as well as can be expected.Was told by Dee he had been on a short break to N.Wales.

thats the only thing about the bars,is when Albatros is closed pickwicks is very busy and visa verus..but i feel people who go in the Albatros are not as friendly.times i have been in Albatros its like they wished you had not walked through the door.and they get you out quicker like a pub back home.ok i dont wish to stop all night i know they have to go home.
but its the way they do it i dont like.plus if you do get a seat early.and someone walks in later.they look at you as though to say you in my seat.

Sorry to hear about Brian. I have not been to Benalmadena since 2008 and he is a great host.
Jo, I remember when you didn't want to sell me ticket number 1000 because you thought it would not win,but it did 300 euros worth. Probably because my daughter picked it out.

Hi I am going back to Benalmadena,on the 11th July.I have not been back for 5 years.I have been told by several people,it is not so busy as it used to be,and a lot of the bars have closed down.I hope to see a few people,that I used to be friends with,thats if they are still living there.As anyone been to Blazing Saddles,while they have been on holiday,it will be nice seeing Sandie and Len again.I am pleased to hear Brian as been away on a short break,and hope he is progressing well.Will let you know.what changes I notice when I get back.Jo
Jo called in the Blazing Saddles whilst I was over the other week.Len and Sandie are still there but it was not a patch on its former years, very quiet,a lot of the bars have closed or are quiet.
I am sorry to tell everyone this sad news,but I have just heard Brian died last night.I am so sad,and all I have,is the happy memories I spent working for him,and being with him socially.All my love goes to Ann and family,

I knew it would come but its still a shock.After all the years Brian had worked so hard to make peoples holidays that extra bit memorable.He always had time to talk to every customer.A true gentelman.Thinking of Ann and family,at this sad time
