Just back yesterday from the Torremolinos Beach Club. A word of warning for those visiting the area. On Tuesday of last week in the early afternoon, we were walking back to the hotel along the seafront from Torremolinos. We were passed by an ambulance with its sirens sounding. On getting nearer (about 500 yards from the hotel) we passed by and they were attending to an enderly patient, we thought no more and kept on walking, just thinking they had fallen or something of that nature. That night it was announced in the hotel that the lady had been mugged by 2 guys on a motorbike one who had snatched her handbag. Then yesterday morning as we waited for the coach back to the airport, we were informed that another mugging had occured somewhere close to the hotel on Thursday. Staff at the hotel just wanted visitors to be aware that although it wasn't a common ocurrence, it does happen from time to time, so just take care.
Degs.
Well done to the hotel for informing guests as these things are usually covered up. We have stayed at the Beach Club 3 times so know the area well and have always felt safe there.
Yes, Luci, I agree, many hotels would want to keep something like that quiet. It was one of the girls who calls out the bingo who made the announcement from the stage at the start of the nights proceedings.
If it was the Spanish girl with dark hair that will be Lucy. She usually has an English girl working the animation team with her, but we've seen different ones.
There was Lucy, Chelsea and another girl, whose name I didn't catch and it was her that made the announcement.
