hi doe anyone know what the parking situation is like at murcia airport, ie: is it free for short stay? we'reflying into murcia in july and oicking up a hire car and travelling down to mojacar, then returning and picking up my parents half way through our holiday and wondered about coming back into the airport with a car. i had been told that there was just a field that you parked in but wondered if that had changed. thankx

Hi ruthbean ... I can't get the airport's website to open at the moment (it is always dead slow) but most unusually for an airport, I believe short term parking is free. The car park is directly opposite the terminal and I think it's the same one used by car rental companies. There is a field which is used for parking, I don't know whether that is the same car park, or if it is perhaps the long term car park.

Hi Ruthbean

Dropped a friend of the other day. As you drive up to the airport on the left hand side their is a parking sign (P) on the floor it is easily missed, if you do miss it don't worry because as you go past the main entrance of the airport there is another car park straight ahead, you also pay for parking here. Noticed plenty of parking places. Have also been told that parking is cheaper than Alicante :D

hi thanks for that. hubby is a bit nervous about the journey in and out of the airport as he will be without me when he does this trip.

My daughter and two friends have had to re-arrange a holiday booking in August (won't bore you with the details) and are looking for the cheapest way of getting from Murcia airport to Benidorm. Unfortunately their flight arrives at 20.55 on a Monday evening and am not sure if a coach would still be running at that time. Any information would be most appreciated.

Thanks Sue

as they are all students - they are trying to find a cheaper way!

Just some info on Murcia San Javier airport. Its well placed for the AP7 motorway a 2 minute drive after leaving the airport,
There are 2 tolls on this section heading for Alicante.Cost last week 1.65 each.
The duty free choice is limited And there are no tobacco products on sale???
I was reading some stats on the airport. apparently its a military airport, and there are no civil flights/landings between 8am and 3pm?

Not sure if this is posted in the correct forum but here goes:
I would like to book a flight for myself and my daughter, who is in a wheelchair, to visit relatives on the Costa Blanca
We usually use Alicante but the prices are quite high so Murcia is looking like a good alternative
Can anyone advise of how wheelchair passengers are transferred onto and off of the plane at Murcia
I know from messages posted back in 2005 that they used "2 burly men" to transfer passengers in their own wheelchairs but has this now changed
Do they have a hydraulic platform now...?
Any advice would be welcome as I am looking to book a flight as soon as possible

I think it is pretty much the same. Last time I saw a wheelchair user on a flight this was how they were transferred. That was in June out of Murcia.

Hi

Does anyone know of any transfers from murcia airport going to cabo roig

there will be 4 adults with 4 cases and 1 wheelchair

and on return there will be

6 adults 6 cases and 1 wheelchair

Hi Wicked Chris, try shuttle direct, I have just had a look and they do transfers from Murcia to Cabo Roig, I recently used them and they were very reliable and reasonably priced.

Sue :)

thanks i will take a look at that.

There will be 4 adults with 4 cases and 1 wheelchair, so going out transfer is £6odd per person

But on return there is 6 of us and it then costs £14 each.

Anyone any idea as to how this works
