....those who have used this site will already be aware of it's good location with convenient transport links into York, by riverboat service, bus, and close proximity to the York/Selby cycle way, which offers easy access into and around the city.
However, we've just returned from a camping trip there after a previous visit several years ago, and found some changes made by new owners of the site; the large field has been divided into smaller bays; the seperate tent field, which was already rather small, has now been reduced by half, with "hook-ups only" taking up the other half.
Our small tent was banished into another field over by the lock, containing nothing but a tap, along with all the other vehicles not paying extra for electrics.
......and our little backpacking tent, all 3 kilos of it, now cost us £11 per night, the same as all the expensive caravans and motorhomes ......
Don't think we'll be going back there, unfortunately.
