Can anyone tell me if they have a duty free shop at Nairobi airport? We are going to Mombassa for New Year and would like to take a bottle of champagne to share with friends we are meeting there.
Are spirtis and alcohol readily available in the supermarkets? Not that I am an alcoholic but we will be staying in timeshare accommodation at Kikambala (Royal Reserve Beach Club) and it is quite isolated.
We have been to Kenya before, but about 14 years' ago and I seem to remember that the drinks were expensive then. The tonic for the gin had a bitter taste and I was told at the time that it contained additives that had been banned in the UK. Obviously, this may well have changed since that time.
Thanks Fiona - Why didn't I think of that!
don't worry- that's what I'm here for!
If you have any problems getting it then ask Abdul (Sales Manager) who is really lovely and he will get you a bottle on his way too/from work.
Have a great trip
