Hello,
Been reading all your posts and have found them very informative. I am going to Goa Varca beach staying at the Club Mahindra for 2 weeks in January6th for my partners 50th birthday and must admit I am a bit aprehensive. My friend went a few years ago and hated it but she does not like beaches and is not very adventurous so they did not go amywhere so I wont read too much into that unfortunately though I have always been a usa fantic and certainly like my home comforts so what I want to know is whether Varca is near any attractions is it easy to get around are we near enough to Hampi to pay a visit. For my partners birthday I would like to take him on the overnight cruise which goes down to see the sun setting are we able to do this from where we are based. I would like to ride an elephant is this possible. How much money do I need to take for two weeks and finally is the very well reccomended bettys any where near us and if not how do we get there. Thank you so much for reading this and hopefully pointing me in the right directions.
The great thing about Goa is it is small enough to see all the sights from where ever you are based. Taxi's are cheap to hire for a whole day and the food id wonderfull and so cheap. Bettys is around 15 mins taxi from Varca (Bettys day boat trip is also highly recomended). You can ride/wash an Elephant at Sahakira spice plantation where aso get a tour of the plantation and a lovely buffet lunch (tour and lunch only 350 rupees). What other type of things are you interested in?
Thanks for the reply to my message. Other things I would be interested in is the overnight trip on the traditional type boats and visiting Hampi how do go I go about this how much will it cost and is it worth it.It is for partners 50th. Thanks again
Just like to point out, dont book with your tour operator, you can get it much cheaper from the locals
I have bumped up a thread I found on Hampi
As Tightjock says the spice plantation is a good trip out. However the 350 rupees entrance fee doesn't cover the elephants. We had to pay a further 1000 rupees for the kids to wash and ride them. It was the highlight of the holiday for us and wll worth it.
