Can anyone help me.?
During my journey around the internet I read about a new hotel that is either being built or going to be built in Benidorm.
Apparantly, this hotel is going to consist of two towers linked together with a globe structure on the top, in memory to the victims of the Madrid bombings.
I also read that Benidorm considers this the way forward and any new hotel will be built on the lines of the hotel Gran Bali, in height and facilities.
I saw a picture of the architects perception of this hotel, when completed.
Usually, when I see something of interest I save to my favourites, to browse over later, but "my Favourites" was longer than my legs and growing, therefore, I have been having a massive clearout on my puter....and I`ve deleted the info and now I can`t find it....typical.
Anyone know what Iam rabbiting on about.?

I did see that article Sanji, the hotel is going to be in the Finestrat area, and will replace Gran Hotel Bali as the highest hotel structure in the country. But the fact that the two towers will be linked at the top rather than at ground level is certainly very unusual.
After spending too much time "Googling" for the answer, I decided to check my "history".
As I only read it recently, I`ve just waded through 3 weeks worth of hits.
I couldn`t even remember the name
Residential In Tempo.
Things like this bug me, if I cannot find the answer.
What do you think folks.?

Sorry, it is not an hotel, it is a residential building....but I guess these apartments will be bought as an investment, and then leased out to tourist.

Very impressive
Very impressive prices as well, at least 6000 euros/sq m would put an average sized one bed apartment up at over 300,000 euros! A lot of money to live way up the "wrong" end of town
Thanks for that Colin, you could have saved me a lot of time
JUST LOOKED AT PICTURES OF THIS NEW HOTEL DONT THINK I WOULD LIKE TO STAY IN IT THINK ITS FAR TO TALL BUT LOOKS LIKE A LOVELY HOTEL AND IN A GOOD AREA ANYONE ANY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS HOTEL

Dermott, this new building is not going to be a "Hotel" as has been pointed out already. It is going to be a residential Apartment Building.

Wow, that's impressive. Wouldn't like to live in the building 'behind' it though!
Residential In Tempo (which I read at the time)and there are some great pictures of what it will look like. Does anyone know if this has been started please and if so where?
Also has work re-commenced yet on the new hotel on the sea front at Cala Finestrat? I remember they had to take down some of the top floors.

EDIT: Merged with previous topic

Apparently there is a new buiding almost complete at the Rincon end of town called the Torre Lugano. This is actually supposed to be higher, from sea level, than the Gran Hotel Bali, because it is built part way up the hill. I have to say that, looking in that direction a few weeks ago, I couldn't see anything which looked huge the way the Bali does in comparison to surrounding buildings. I suppose if you lived next door to it you might think differently!
I'm only glad that it actually DID get completed and not left for years until someone was prepared to pile in the money and pay the construction workers.
It still looks "lop-sided " and unfinished....there's big and beautiful and big and blinkin ugly.
I heard and don't know how true this is, but they didn't think about how they were going to dismantle the crane and apparently one of the internal proposed lift shafts contains the crane....hence the outside lift.
It wouldn't suprise me one iota.

Some time ago Sanji sent in some info on a new development to be called

Hi i stayed in an apartment block right next to the Atrium Beach Hotel, and what an eyesore it is, it's far too big for Finestrat's small bay and lots of the apartment blocks around it had no sun as the Hotel is far to high, i was speaking to the Director of my apartments and he told me a few men had died working on this Hotel, and when they start to take down the extra floors they built it will cause him a lot of grief as the dust and rubble will go straight into his pool and garden area, it's such a shame as Finestrat i feel really don't need this Hotel, if you walk around they are still building more apartment blocks with many still unocupied when will it stop, you can't get a fag paper in between them (as my nan would say)

Quite right Sue, you could'nt get better than Sanji , factual and her views are so logical. we can not fail to be impressed.
Thanks...I just enjoy helping people when I can.
We were on the main road which runs parallel to the Poniente beach and there were lorries etc on site so they have obviously started. I look forward to seeing the progress as it looks to be an interesting shaped building but as Sanjii said it did take 15 years to complete the Bali.

(this is from one of Sanji's posts)Apparently, this hotel is going to consist of two towers linked together with a globe structure on the top, in memory to the victims of the Madrid bombings.
I have brought this up again as I am quite intrigued about this building and while we were in Benidorm this week we went back to the site and walked round to the works entrance, however it was closed as it was Sunday but we could see that there were about two floors have been built but it is not much progress since we first saw the site in Nov 2006.
(from ColinWWW)there is a new buiding almost complete at the Rincon end of town called the Torre Lugano. This is actually supposed to be higher, from sea level, than the Gran Hotel Bali, because it is built part way up the hill
We also went up to this building and I think it is quite impressive and can be seen from miles away.
I would not want to stay in it though!

Torre Lugano, I've watched that building go up from the first blob of cement and just in front is Torre Edifico Don Jorge which is still under construction.
Torre Lugano does take the skyline now on Levante beach, it's impressive and just beautiful, I'd just love to have the penthouse in that building....both constructions are just behind the Palm Beach Hotel in the Rincon de Loix area.
Here are some photo's I took last year, but it looks entirely different now.Torre Lugano is the one on the left as you're looking at the picture.
This is off the camcorder from my last visit to Benidorm (xmas) and viewed from the Gran Hotel Bali.
If you want to see the work regarding Residential in Tempo, click on the link, it's slow at times because of the amount of photo's to download and it depends on the time of day and if certain people in certain countries are tucked up in bed........and before anyone asks these are my pictures I've posted, I've not nicked them from the skyscraper site.
