Does this new policy make sense ? I thought the whole ethos of the shacks were that they were temporary structures. It sounds a crazy scheme, I cant see the sense in shack owners building solid structures with toilets showers etc, only to perhaps loose them in a lottery after three years. I can confidently expex total shambles ahead, and furher shady practices on a grand scale. Only in Goa !!!

“Shacks will be uniform with international standards
Oh Dear! How dreary the beach will be if all shacks look the same. Why can't all sides meet to agree the way forward instead of "ministers" dictating what's right and wrong.
There is always a need for improved hygiene standards but not at the cost of the individuality of the shack. It's the off-beat and the wacky that is so appealing about Goa. We really don't want standardisation!
I was still quite happy having a pee in the sand dunes at the back of the shacks
