Sorry Jay

Only just seen this. Do you mean the Il Mercato ? It was near where I stayed this year which is at the Ras um Sid end of Sharm.

Didn't get to go there but saw it from a taxi and it looked very modern, it's not all open yet.

Think the road it's in is El Fanar Street.

Hope this helps, Doe

Thanks Doe,I was hoping it would be within walking distance from Naama bay as I cant imagine my husband being pleased getting dragged around a shopping mall!I am staying at the Holiday village which is at the far end of Nabq bay.I may find another lady guest who fancies going without her hubby!Jay

There were a couple of "shopping centres" opposite the Holiday Village when we were there in October.
One was called "La Strada" and was still having shops added to it and I can't remember the other one. Sorry.
Although these were classed as shopping centres, they were more like shopping arcades.
They will probably be much better by the time you go in June and we go back in September.

We found it better to go into Naama Bay for shopping.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jay :D

This is the site for Il Mercato, not sure how much of it is up and running, but you will need to get a cab from the end that you are staying. Looks like more of a proper shopping centre rather than just an arcade.

There are a few pictures but they look more like artists impressions.

Thanks Doe,I saw lots of photos took recently on TA and it looked lovely.Maybe I can combine it with a visit to Fantasia.I will be visiting Naama bay on an evening but its torture during the day!I thought the shopkeepers in El Mercado wouldnt be so persistent!I notice on the website that transportation is available,so maybe this is from Naama bay.I had a terrible experience in a taxi last time I was there so I am reluctant to use one again!Jay.

Hi Jay :D

If you go to Fantasia I think the only night they do the show in English is the Saturday. It's cheaper just to turn up and pay your entrance if you go on a TO's trip it costs more. (I guess you know this though).

Have a great time. It will be good for a HT regular to go to the Holiday Village. I am sure after you have been you will be answering loads of questions.
