Months ago I read in the Málaga Gazette that following the track upgrade, Renfe were going to introduce more trains on the Málaga -Fuengirola route increasing the present 70 trains during the week days to 104 trains This will mean a train every 20 minutes instead of the present frequency of every 30 minutes and due to come into operation on 11th September....resulting in 48% more seats per day.
There's nothing on the official Renfe site yet, but that's not suprising

the Spanish don't seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer regarding up-to date information or confirming the dates of up and coming events.... Mañana will do.!
However, I've just done a dummy run on the site for 10th September between Málaga- Maria Zambrano to Fuengirola and the timetable is displayed.
Put in the same information for the 11th September and ....nothing.! so are they updating the timetable .?
It's looking good !
