Apologies if this has been discussed before, but my searches didn't throw up anything recent.
We're looking for a week away from the Christmas/New Year TV schedules, and the relatives who want to visit, and the miserable weather.... etc, etc, etc.
We've both just reached Bus Pass age, but that does not make us senile!
However it doesn't have us looking for night clubs either
What's the island like in mid winter? With just a week available would we be better staying in a population centre rather than a more remote location?
Any comments/advice would be most welcome
Ron
Malta is pretty quiet during the festive season. The locals tend to have family meals at the big hotels but the restaurants and bars remain open. All depends on what you are looking for? If you want somewhere where you can walk to a few bars and restaurants then Buggiba/Qawra would be ok.
More than slightly prompted by your comments, about the island being quiet over the festive period, we've had a complete rethink.....
We're now booked for a visit to Istanbul
Best regards,
Ron
