Flight Only / Airline and Airports

I'd agree - if you go on the Jedburgh road and look across it just seems to be bumper to bumper and you wonder how the hell they get them in let alone out again. We're lucky we're only 5 mins door to door so we leave the car at home and use Airport Taxi's - costs us nearly a tenner mind! I guess another taxi firm would be a darned sight cheaper but Airport drop you at the door.

Park and Fly behind the hotel next to the airport are the best.We once had a puncture while we were away and they sorted it for us and have your car ready waiting for you next to reception. They even de-ice your windscreen in winter!

Has anyone just came back off holiday flying to and from Newcastle airport if so did you get a burger king meal if so how much were the meals? as we are not having in-flight meals on the plane and were wondering if we should just get a meal from there before we go through to departures, thanks

Flew from Newcastle in June and my son got a Burger King breakfast (only thing available early moring) sausage sandwhich, hash browns and a drink. I think it was about £4.50

Burger King is after you go through security.I prefer Greggs which is at the left hand side of the check in desks.

I cant remember if they said it was open until 4am or that they opened at 4am :que If you look on the airports website it will give you all the opening times of all the cafes etc .

just heard on the north east news that incoming planes are being diverted to Durham tees valley something to do with an RAF tornado, does anyone else know what happened as I only caught the last of the news :que

An RAF Tornado diverted to the airport after a birdstrike and overshot the runway forcing a 2 hour closure

All seems to be normal now looking at the latest arrivals on website aside from coach arrivals from diverted flights

I came through Newcastle airport yesterday from Sanford and found it very easy going! We were through the whole process from plane to car park in about 30 mins! Which I thought was good, so thumbs up to Newcastle Airport for this trip :)

I flew into Newcastle for the first time in a while (after missing my flight elsewhere...oops) and there was a wee improvement (perhaps because the airport was pretty quiet and peak staff still employed)

I had to use Airport Taxis to get home (in the end I probably should have hired a car, would have been bloody cheaper)

I wouldn't use airport taxis, just got a quote from them and it was £27 and I only live 4 miles from the airport, so I phoned another company and was quoted between £7-8, but I think it will be a bit more than that , I will be happy to pay around £10-12

It was late and I couldn't get another firm and the Metro is of no use to me so I plunged the depths

I was staying at friends in Low Fell, Gateshead and I thought I was buying shares in the company not requesting a price :que

Just for anyone flying into Newcastle planning to use the Metro

Metro is now operating a shuttle service between Callerton Parkway and Kingston Park, 7am-7pm.

The service has been suspended between the Airport and Kingston Park since Saturday night after severe flooding.

However, passengers are now be able to catch a Metro between Callerton Parkway and Kingston Park. In order to make the onward journey towards Newcastle passengers should change trains to Platform 2.

A replacement bus service will also remain in operation between Kingston Park and Newcastle Airport.

Metro services into the Airport terminus itself remain suspended until further notice.

Normal Service has now been resumed
