We've finally decided, we're going to Goa in december this year Would mean ive had 2 hols in goa in less than a year :)
ive got a few questions as i usually go in jan/feb/april.
whats december like? is it busy in baga?
finally, whats the weather like?
thanks a lot
Nicola
December is a good time - the weather is nice, hot but not humid. It's always busy in Baga isn't it?
December - The good thing about December is that it's glorious and sunny during the day but cools down in the evenings so it's very comfortable to wear trouses/long shirts without feeling hot and sticky. If you think you will be out on a bike (motor bike) in the evening then it's definately worth bringing something warmer as it can be very chilly on a bike, if you're just walking around then it's perfect...
thats good to hear that its not humid
December is a lovely time, beautifully hot and sunny during the day, we never saw a cloud last year. The Goans love Christmas so there is an excitement in the air and the decorations are fabulous! Enjoy your holiday
I've been in december a couple of times and the weathers fab but its VERY busy everywhere....you'll have to be on the beach early to get a bed and if you want to go to popular restaurants you might be better off booking.
We have been to Goa a couple of times during December and January and although its busy we have never had any problems with regards to the restaurants being too full. In fact they seemed more full when England was on or a Man Utd game was being shown on their big screens. We ate at the beach shacks every meal practically and they were not full. We couldnt understand why people wanted to be cramped up in a restaurant when the shacks were not. The food was excellent and none of us had a bad stomach all the time we were there We stayed at the Highland Beach and on one full wall its painted DO NOT EAT AT THE SHACKS DUE TO POOR HYGIENE what rubbish
Think the hotels try to stop people eating at the shacks because it takes away their business. I personally would rather eat (and pay my money) to the shacks than the hotels - always found the food, ambience and prices much better. Only time I ever got DB was from a calamari dish eaten at the hotel ! think I'll stick with the shacks.
ooo sorry got carried away with the shacks and forgot the original question. We have been in December a few times. It is busy depending on when in December it is. Baga was especially busy around Christmas and New year because lots of people from Mumbai and other parts of India come to Goa for the holidays. I remember coming out of a bar in Baga about 6 years ago and the street was heaving....even for baga. Didn't have a problem with shacks or restaurants though. Weather has always been fab at that time...nice and hot but you cab breathe (and sleep) at night.
