Can anyone help, does anyone know of any resorts in Algarve that are ideal for families, we want something that has got entertainment and a bar (no hotels), just apartments and is within walking distance of all amenities, i.e. restaurants, bars, shops etc, nothing on a hill. We go to Sidari most years and where we stay its lovely and everything is near.
Can anyone suggest any places for me?
Praia da Rocha is basically flat except that access to the beach at one end is by long flights of steps or a fairly steep ramp.
The general area of Praia do Vau, Torralta and some bits of Alvor are flat, no hills except in Alvor old village and the Hotel Delfim, both of which are on hills. However the shops etc are bit sparse apart from those selling tourist stuff ie no big supermarkets.
Armacao de Pera is also flat and has a massive beach. In the eastern Algarve, Monte Gordo is dead flat.
Avoid Albufeira and the surrounding area. Almost everywhere you can stay here is up steep hills from the beaches.
