Gel
That's ok Gel...nice to get a "thanks".
Driven down to Mackies market and it is back on from 6pm tonight and every saturday.
Was also told the old ingo's market (saturday night bazzar) may be open in 2 weeks
Thanks Spaldy - just wish folk would make sure of THEIR 'facts' before they post.
Having said that, did it ACTUALLY go ahead??
I spoke to someone today who went on Saturday. They said it wasn't bad,but very quiet and not much there.

All the "facts" were right. It was on then someone told the taxi drivers not to bother taking people down as it was off then an advert appeared in the Herald to say it was on.
When we went down to find out on Friday it was off - on Saturday it is on.

Thats ok "tookatuktuk" i'm not normally far off the mark!
The market was on...it was bound to be quiet as it was the first one, still not that many people here and the normal confusion of weather it was on or not!

Thanks 'jcbrum' and 'spaldy'.
As we all know, you can never be certain about anything in Goa...........but if everything went as clockwork we would have a lot less to talk about

Saturday Night Market is only a rumour at the the moment.
It is on the Arpora road - going towards Anjuna - depending on traffic and some Saturdays can be very heavy, should take about half an hour from Calangute.

cheers,so mackies is near the hotel arpora,so where is ingo,s please
Mackies is the smaller market which opened last Saturday - starts at 6pm and is near to Hotel Marinha Dourada on the riverside.
The Saturday Night Market (which used to be called Ingos) is the one on the Arpora Road and is a very big market.
You won't have a problem finding them - all the taxi drivers know where they are - their best earners on a Saturday night.
