No Shacks at Morjim?

According to the local press the goverment "withdrawn allotment of shacks at Morjim". Someone please tell me this is not true, can anyone confirm this or is anyone in touch with any shack owners at Morjim? I love to alternate my days at Baga and Hard Rock Cafe at Morjim.

This news has just dampened my mood as the postman has just delivered our visas (10 days from London) - we're off on the 9th Nov

I've just read that there will be shacks on Morjim this year but they will be fencing of the turtle sanctuary.

I have been talking to Gilbert, ex Hard Rock Cafe now Reggae shack today and he said there is going to be shacks on Morjim :yipee

but that they will be more to the right hand side as you approach the beach from the road.Allan.

We're flying out on the 18th Jan - can anyone tell me if Morjim is open for business again, we went in november and it was messy and deserted. We did bump into Jonny from Hard Rock and he was still hopefull about opening in December.

Yes, Morjim does have shacks, they were putting them up when I was there
(25th Nov - 17 Dec 2006).

Yes hotxbun they are up and running, gilbert is doing well , said he has been busy, we are back out on the 26th. :yipee

Marvelous news, we'll be there a week on Sunday enjoying our favourite sunday lunch - Garlic King Prawns, side salad and fresh bread accompanied with some chilled Kingfisher - wonderful
