I site I use for finding out what flights go to what destination is http://www.airflights.co.uk Don't book flight through them though as it is not confirmed immediately, visit the operators own websites to book. For budget airlines visit http://www.skyscanner.net. For accommodation, I find http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk hard to beat.

I used to work in a travel agency, so am quite used to all the systems, and have been travelling diy style for the last couple of hols.

I am going to salou in a couple of weeks time. We are using ryanair, flying from luton. We got really cheap flights. On their system, you would need to select barcelona (reu), to check availability. With regards to accommodation, I have used thomson for the last couple of trips. Go on thomson.co.uk, and select hotels from the top. It works out well for me as the price quoted is for the room and not per person.

i think thomson do them, thomas cook (i think)direct holidays do them and ryannair from liverpool, we too live in NE we were thinking of doing diy last year but didnt in the end, if i recall ryannair was quite cheap and worked out that it was worthwhile travelling to L/pool and parking the car there.

I was looking to go for a short break but most of the North East airports only do flights once a week. Looking at Manchester at the moment.

wintersunshineholidays are cheaper than thomson for hotels.
