then move down South and chill out for the 2nd part,The North may be more suitable for your
son though as its busy there.

if its your first time then id be even more positive about it, try somewhere in candolim so its not hectic and you can then decide how lively you want it
tammie
Have been to both north and south and personaly prefer the south, however for first time would recommend the north, but april! to hot and humid
I have also been to the north and the south, depends what you prefer, cavelossim in the south is fairly quiet but still has enough there and enough eating places for you to try somewhere different each night for a fortnight. I also like Candolim in the North, where you can choose to go to the very lively bit (Beach Road) or go somewhere slightly calmer at the Sinquerim end
We have decided to visit north goa and in middle of the holiday spend three or four days in the south can anyone give us a few tips on where to stay etc (in the south).thanks.
try casa de chris in cavelossim we are there for 3 weeks end march/april
thanks.
i would book it now for peace of mind
i travelled down south last year and stayed just the one night. I hadnt booked in advance but found somewhere to stay quite easily. Our taxi driver recomended the sau domingoe in Cavelosim. Just around the corne from Mikes Place where we had a brilliant meal. I was only there for the one night as i had travelled down for a day on a different beach then went on one of Bettys boat trips the next day before heading back north. I suppose its just what you feel more comfortable with. I always think if your face to face its easier to get a reduction in price !
We stayed at anthy's, lovely food, nice enough rooms right on the beach & like all goans, very friendly.
Couldn't agree with you more, lovely beach, and Anthy's and Blue Corner for good food, can't wait to be back.
xx lassi
South Goa especially the Margao area is pretty good for links to places kile Dudghsagar, Bigfoot and some quiet beaches.
Oh how I remember when Palolem was a deserted paradise...
just returned from south goa, only ended up there because our pre-booked guesthouse in calangute decided to charge us an extra 1700rupps a night on top of the price on the booking form.which of course we did not pay,but it left us with no accomadation over xmas and new year.we headed down to colva, got a room for 12 nights then onto benualim for 13 nights,,,,we are so glad we went south, everything you need, and we would definatley choose south over north.
There isnt enough for me to do and I find the North so much more vibrant.
then its down South to relax and have some great meals in Cavellosim
this March we have 5 nights Phoenix Park Candolim
7 nights Royal Goan Monterio Arpora
9 nights Royal Goan Hatthi Mahal Cavellosim
as you can see we like moving about
annx
I love the North, I like the vibrance and hustle and bustle, although we like a few days chilling in the huts at Palolem. Last year we had a 36 hour delay at the end of our holiday and were put in a hotel in Betalbatim in the South, for me it had no character or atmosphere around there and I would never choose there for a holiday.
