Hi all,well finally got round to posting our trip report! we spent 7 nights in NY from 12 -19th march and we had a fantastic time,we stayed at the Radisson lexington hotel and despite some poor reviews we found it to be perfect a big room overlooking lexington avenue.The hotel was about 15-20mins walk from times square which was perfect and there were plenty delis,bars and shops close by.We done all the touristy things,and we booked a greeter which i cant recommend highly enough if you go to NY make sure you book one,our greeter Tom took us round Brooklyn which was great it showed us a part of NY that you would not normally see.We had dinner in a polish restaurant and it was the best meal we had and extremely cheap.We spent about 7 hours with Tom but it is up to yourself how long you want to be with them,from Brooklyn we walked over the Brooklyn bridge and it was fantastic you get a great view of the statue of liberty and Manhattan,it takes about 20 mins to walk over but is well worth it.We booked tickets for the esb at home as you save a couple of dollars and we also booked a helicopter trip from home as well which again was fantastic you fly over all five boroughs and the view is super,we went up the esb at night and although it was baltic it was still fantastic-great view.As my girlfrien is irish we took in st paddys day and that is well worth seeing the parade starts about 11am and goes on until about 4:30 loads of music and dancing.We found the touristy pubs in times square were a bit expensive,but if you can head to the "proper" american bars as the staff are so friendly and the drink is so much cheaper.The free staten island ferry is good,you get great views of the manhattan skyline and the statue of liberty and once you get to the other side you just hop off and walk round the side and get back on the return ferry very straight forward.I could go on forever as NY is just great and i can honestly say it is the best hokiday we have ever had,if anyone has any questions i would be more than happy to try and help,cheers Mark.
