Hi there, as promised info about Oasis Dunas
No problems at all during our stay. The hotel's basic but alright, maids were in to clean every day apart from Sunday and towels were changed a couple of times during the week. The complex is fairly big but it was quiet and not all the apartments were occupied while we were there. There were plenty of sunbeds and I'd imagine there'd be enough even with all the rooms full.
We stayed half board and found the breakfasts (8.30-10.30) plenty and easy to fill up on with the usual cereal, English breakfast items and sweet things like pastries and pancakes, and evening meals (6.30-9.30) there was always pasta, a rice dish, fish, meat, and a couple of choices of pudding so we never had any problems finding something. Not Michelin star cooking but we were happy with it for what we paid. We're not fussy eaters though. A big glass of wine in the hotel restaurant with your tea was 2.50 euro which wasn't bad. There's a price list for drinks as you go in, my only grumble would be that sometimes the waiters would be too rushed off their feet clearing the tables that you'd eaten before you could get a drink.
There was a fridge, kettle, toaster and some cutlery, glasses and crockery in the little kitchen in the room, so it was ok for sorting out a snack at lunchtime or a bit of breakfast if you go SC.
There was a pool bar serving food and drink during the afternoon, didn't have any of the food from there, but think it was 2.50 euro a pint of lager and 6 euro for a (lethal!) cocktail.
The location of the hotel was pretty good. Come out of the hotel, head right, then walk down to the junction and turn left and you're on the main strip within a couple of minutes. Come out of the hotel, head left, and carry on for 200-300 metres and there's a little shopping centre, and a supermarket. Look out for Hiperdino supermarkets dotted around the town, pretty good for getting snacks and booze for your room and for newspapers and toiletries. The hotel supermarket seemed fairly expensive but those supermarkets were more reasonable.
There were quite a few restaurants and bars on the main strip, and lots of shops selling perfume, cigs, bags and suitcases, and booze. A pint of local lager (Dorada or Tropical) was 2 euro in one bar by the harbour, and around 2.50 euro in most other places. Wine was around the 2.50 euro mark, a spirit and mixer around 6 euro. We went into Chablis bar quite a few nights, because we fancied somewhere quiet but there were other bars with live music.
Have a great holiday
