Hi Everyone
I am going to the Oasis dunas on the 10th of Feb and would be greatful for some advice as hotel last reports were in November when the pool was being refurbished and the reports were not very good.
1 could anyone tell me if the pools are now up and running?
2 is any refurbishment going on which is likely to spoil are holiday?
3 is the restaurant now open?
4We are arriving late about 8 to 8.30 Will there be anywhere open to pick up some supplies
5 Does anyone know if there are better rooms or positions of rooms that I can request and if so do you have an e-mail address (we will be in 2 bed apartment)
6Can we request a late check out room?
7What clothes will I need to bring this time of year?
sorry for all the questions and would be greatful for any help given with the answers
I think that the Netto supermarket is open til at least 9. Main road into town, over to other side of the street. If that is closed then there ia nother one a little further down the road.
Just booked a week in Oasis Dunas apartments for Christmas week. I'm wondering what the place is like? It looks nice on the websites. We don't drive so I'm wondering how much bicyle hire is? Are there decent shops (supermarkets etc) nearby?
I see we have to pay for tv - how does that work? Do you pay for the week or what? Any idea how much?!
Sorry, so many questions. It's my first Christmas away so I'm all excited and my mind is racing!
I've found a shop that rents bicycles. They're on Calle Gran Canaria - that's close to Oasis Dunas, isnt' it? I can't make out on the map... OD seems to be on Avendia GC...
Tv in OD is paid for by the week, you rent the remote from reception and pay. It was about 30 euros from what I remember. Ask them to bar the adult channel if you have kids
€30?! What channels do you get? I doubt we'll watch it much, to be honest. But just in case it rains...
That is for a whole weeks or fortnights rental of the remote. You get a couple of movie channels, sports, news etc. You can rent it by the day if you want.
Thanks again, TPR!
Been before, Los Alisios and Bristol playa so someware new this time.
DS9 and I are heading off here on Wednesday, only booked it on thursday ~ Ive read the reviews here on the site, but just wondering if anyones been here recently with any tips. Is there a particular good block etc to try and book?
Any help appreciated, this is our first trip to Fuerteventura too
Thanks
Karen
This topic seems to have been a bit deserted of late?!
I am hoping anyone can give me any recent reviews on these apartments as i am hoping to book to go here in march?
Just any info about the apartments, things to be aware of, location - how far to beach?- anything along these lines would be great!
Thanks in advance!
So far I've been reading up on it on Tripadvisor, mostly good reviews for it, any moaners seem to be the sort who will whinge about anything!
I have actually booked to go here now in March with my fiance so fingers crossed you come back with great reviews!
Hope you have a nice holiday!
No problems at all during our stay. The hotel's basic but alright, maids were in to clean every day apart from Sunday and towels were changed a couple of times during the week. The complex is fairly big but it was quiet and not all the apartments were occupied while we were there. There were plenty of sunbeds and I'd imagine there'd be enough even with all the rooms full.
We stayed half board and found the breakfasts (8.30-10.30) plenty and easy to fill up on with the usual cereal, English breakfast items and sweet things like pastries and pancakes, and evening meals (6.30-9.30) there was always pasta, a rice dish, fish, meat, and a couple of choices of pudding so we never had any problems finding something. Not Michelin star cooking but we were happy with it for what we paid. We're not fussy eaters though. A big glass of wine in the hotel restaurant with your tea was 2.50 euro which wasn't bad. There's a price list for drinks as you go in, my only grumble would be that sometimes the waiters would be too rushed off their feet clearing the tables that you'd eaten before you could get a drink.
There was a fridge, kettle, toaster and some cutlery, glasses and crockery in the little kitchen in the room, so it was ok for sorting out a snack at lunchtime or a bit of breakfast if you go SC.
There was a pool bar serving food and drink during the afternoon, didn't have any of the food from there, but think it was 2.50 euro a pint of lager and 6 euro for a (lethal!) cocktail.
The location of the hotel was pretty good. Come out of the hotel, head right, then walk down to the junction and turn left and you're on the main strip within a couple of minutes. Come out of the hotel, head left, and carry on for 200-300 metres and there's a little shopping centre, and a supermarket. Look out for Hiperdino supermarkets dotted around the town, pretty good for getting snacks and booze for your room and for newspapers and toiletries. The hotel supermarket seemed fairly expensive but those supermarkets were more reasonable.
There were quite a few restaurants and bars on the main strip, and lots of shops selling perfume, cigs, bags and suitcases, and booze. A pint of local lager (Dorada or Tropical) was 2 euro in one bar by the harbour, and around 2.50 euro in most other places. Wine was around the 2.50 euro mark, a spirit and mixer around 6 euro. We went into Chablis bar quite a few nights, because we fancied somewhere quiet but there were other bars with live music.
Have a great holiday

Hi, it took about 15-20 mins walk to get to the outskirts of the Dunes
cool think me and wife could do that each day
That 15-20 mins was just to the very beginning of the dunes and I think they go on for a few miles...I'd hire a car
how for the smallest car for 2 weeks
