Be very careful at this hotel!! I've just returned from 2 weeks at the Ocean Blue and they have a problem with maids stealing from your room. They will not admit this to you obviously but the staff there said it had been going on for the last 6 months and I've also found on other review sites that its true. My friend and I had our mobiles phones taken and we werent the only ones this happened to. The safe in the room constantly breaks - we had the guy out 4 times to look at it which is why the phones were in the drawer instead. This happens to everyone. Why?
I insisted the security staff read the door lock to show who had been in the room and the maid had been in twice whilst we were on a full day trip. At worst she took them, at best she left the room unattended which is another common issue here, bedroom doors wide open with no maid to be seen.
Other issues with this hotel - cleanliness of room is terrible. Our shower also broke into 5 pieces, toilet roll holder fell off and wasnt replaced for 5 days, shower leaked all over the floor for the entire holiday despite maintenance knowing about it. Room never serviced before 5pm on any day (which made a mockery of the fact that our room was entered by the maid on the day we were robbed at 9.30am and 12.42) this included the day of the wedding we were attending where we had requested the room be cleaned before 1pm, did it happen? Not a chance.
The Guest Service staff dont give a damn, especially
*Edit to remove staff member's name for legal reasons. Pippy* the Manager. She refused to let us have a print out of the door lock read saying it was 'confidential!'. The only reason we requested this was incase whoever had stolen the phone had ran up an astronmical bill. They just couldnt care less about their guests.
I would seriously reconsider staying at this hotel as its certainly not the standard it claims to be although I cannot fault the food that was excellent. You should not have to worry about being robbed by staff.
Another thing, if your flying with Thomas Cook dont upgrade. They shut the bar 2 hours before the end of the flight without warning, you get no pamper packs, the meal was awful and to top it all the resort Rep

Thankfully the weather was fabulous and the beaches stunning!
