you may do best to check for flights first... we have to travel 250 miles to get decent flights in October there are a few night flights left in my area but not many..

the warmest places will be Crete and Rhodes but it can get quite chilly in the evenings and an average day and a half of rain for that time of year
is it warm enough for the pool... well that would be a personal choice

Yes if you have to go in October stay south ie Rhodes, Kos and crete.
Alternatively you could do Cyprus as they have really good weather there still at that time of year.
You are more likely to get rain in the western greek isles such as zante, Corfu etc , Halkidiki and Skiathos can be either, unpredictable.
