going for a midweek short honeymoon with the mrs to be.
i read somewhere on here that there is building work going on at the place, anyone got any updates on this?
also is there a cashpoint near the hotel?
and one last thing, is it worth asking for a cheeky upgrade as it's our honeymoon
I would mention about it being your honeymoon, you might not get an upgrade but you might get wine or flowers or fruit in your room.
There`s a cash point opposit to Sol Trinidad (nr Macdonalds).
Congartulations on your marriage and have a fab Honeymoon.
we are staying at the Sol Magaluf Park.
i'll email them towards the end of the week with a request, any idea how to word it?
There has been ongoing work for a couple of years there building something at the side of the hotel. We passed last year when they were building and it didn`t seem too bad. I think they have also been refurbishing the hotel rooms a few months ago they were doing the first 3 floors.
I would when you email them ask for a nice room as a nice suprise for your new wife as you are on honeymoon. Perhaps one with a view, although then you may get a high floor( I quiet like high floors as there`s less noise.)

How did you honeymoon go at Magaluf Park? Did you get your upgrade?
Just read your review for Sol Mag Park and am so pleased to read that you had a good time.
The bar prices seem reasonable and the food sounds fab. Did you get bored eating at the hotel? Whats the pool area like is there plenty of sunshine near area or is it shaded? Do you have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed?
What about the laundry did you use it? We wouldnt normally bother but with going on the cruise in our second week we will have to spruce up a bit!!
What bars do you recommend and do they still have the touts saying 4 drinks for the price of 1 outside them?
Any info on hotel or area would be great, we go 16 weeks on tue and counting!
Thanks Liz.
The pool area has a bit of shade, there were plenty of sunbeds but we didn`t have the best weather. When you go I would imagine that a lot would be full but your only 5 mins to beach. From what I could see it got sun all day.
I didn`t use the laundry but a list was in the rooms. I did see a couple of laundy shops (1 in Torrenova, 1 I think at furthest end of Magaluf) both offering a full load wash and dried (I would imagin Ironed as well) around 10 euros but you needed 24 hours to get it back. I thought about it then I wouldn`t have had any washing back home.
There were lots of touts on the strip offering drinks, across the road from the hotel The Fountain had happy hour 5-8 and the other bars on the same road had offers on. Tom Browns and the Happy House had pints for 1.5 euros, Sangria for 6 euros. wine was 3 euros for 1/4 carafe.
Have a fab holiday.
Thanks Christine I am really looking forward to it now!
We were only on a short break, so we didnt do too much - just lazing around and going for walks along the beach.
We were lucky coz we caught the weather just right.
We didnt get an upgrade - all the rooms are the same i think, but we got a bottle of plonk in the room for us.
Just what we needed really - a short break then off to Cyprus in July
Sue
No it is not finished, they are still working on it, but it does look really funky!!
Could anyone tell me what the Katmando is?
Sue
Ohhh thanks, still none the wiser though lol !
there is a news article about it on the wall in the reception of the Sol Magaluf.
There was a notice on the House of Katmandu stating that it was opening on the 7 th May.
