My husband and i booked a holiday in May to Majorca with Ola Holidays, We paid for a 4 star hotel that i had visited as a child and this was the only reason for having Majorca as our choice of Destination.
We booked it and paid in full nto Ola holidays and my husband emailed them to tell them that it would be our honeymoon so could they arrange for Champagne to be placed in our room, they sent a reply email stating they would.
We arrived at midnight to our hotel and they told us that they had no record of our booking, they said that they could give us a room for the night but that we would have to contact Ola the next day to see what had happend. We did show the Hotel a sales invoive that we had stating that we had booked and paid for the 4star Hotel President.
The next morning (2days after we had got married) The hotel manager called us and said that they had contacted Ola and they had never booked us into the Hotel President but actually a 3 star hotel in the same resort called the hotel Piscina. I was distraught as we had only come to Majorca for this hotel which was beautiful and perfect for couples.
The President paid for a taxi for us to take us to the Hotel Piscina, It was absoloutly awful and looked like a high rise council tower, the pool was the size of a small envelope and i dont want to even get started on how disgusting the food looked, My husband kept calling calling Ola and they kept saying that they would get the manager to call us back, they never did call us back and in total it took 6 hours worth of phonecalls to Ola totalling £260 for them to move us to another Hotel, They told us that we also had to arrange our own transfer there, we arrived at another hotel called the Lagomonte which would be perfect for families but not for a honeymooning couple, WE rang Ola again but they refused to move us.They told us that we would have a full refund on our return, We tried our best to enjoy our honeymoon ebven if the nightime entertainment consisted of a parrot on a skateboard and decided that we would sort all the mess out when home,
Since arriving home Ola have told us that we would only be entitles to one nights refund and that had we have derived no pleasure from the holiday then they would have paid us in full, we did tell them that we paid for a four star hotel that was never booked by Ola and they booked us into a 3 star which we didnt want and that we wanted a refund, After a lot of back and fouth they have told us they will give us £180! We find this utterley disgusting, we met alot of other familiies in Majorca who had had similar experiences with Ola Holidays as we had, they were all being moved from Hotel to hotel as Ola were either not booking them in or over booking. I would advise anyont to log onto sights like this and type in Ola Holidays before they book with them. We had an amazing Wedding but unfortunatley will never be able to get our honeymoon back, i am now 3 months pregnant so that would have been our last ever holiday as a couple!

Should you decide to contact them please tell them you have been referred to them from HT. In my own opinion OLA have treated you in an abominable manner and you should be recompensed.

But in the meantine, we already have a long thread about this sort of treatment from Ola and it would be more helpful for potential future victims if this was added to it rather than start a new one.

we had the same with ola. booked a hotel to find out it had been over booked. bit of a long story to sum it up 1week 2 hotels 3rooms and 3days of holiday lost. put a complaint in and had nothing just sent it of to abta.
Has anybody else had any problems with Ola? We met lots of people at our hotel that we were moved to that had, One poor holiday maker had just suffered the loss of his wife and decided to take all his family to the place that he and his wife holidayed every year, when they arrived again Ola hadnt booked them in. I have been on the Holiday watchdog website and read similar tales dating back as far as 2006! How if they are Abta registered are they able to get away with this ??? We cannot afford a solicitor so any free help or advice would be invaluable as they are just not offering us our money back.

Ola Holidays, What an absolute nightmare, I booked and paid in full using visa credit card in May 2010 for all inclusive holiday to Turkey. Ola Holidays took my payment then in July notified me that my flight (Ola Holiday had booked) had gone bust (Gold Trail flight). Ola Holidays offered me an alternative flight for £400.00 extra, I declined their offer. I requested a full refund in July 2010 and I was told I would receive my refund within 60 - 90 days, this is now towards the end of November 2010 (around 130 days) and I have still not received any of my money refunded. I have complained to ABTA, ATOL and Barclaycard and have had minimal to No assistance from any of these. I have raised complaints with ABTA and Barclaycard (both are currently investigating my complaint), to date 25th Nov 2010 still no joy and no refund at all. BEWARE - AVOID OLA HOLIDAYS. Ola Holidays customer aftercare is Rubbish. Ola Holidays have claimed that ATOL claim forms are incorrectly filled in, but do not bother to contact you, they claim they tried to call my on the phone, but they did not call - no missed calls.
