My favourite is a fresh home made Pina Colada.

Quite partial to a Guiness and Tia Maria, although it in't a cocktail, it's still one of my favourite drinks. :glynis

In a shot glass, fill it half with baileys, and half peppermint shnapps, turn it into an orgasm by topping it with whipped cream.

Slippery Nipple if you like Sambuca, or even better still if you don't.

and of course the gin based;

Long Slow Comfortable Screw Against the Wall, if you get the chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robby

If anyone likes cocktails, I'm willing to tell a few!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great thread !
one of the best for me was mexico 1999, first holiday to the carribean ( cheap and chearful, allocated on arrival holiday, pre- kids )
we were ( naively ) shocked to find the hotel was full of americans ( and it was spring break, wonder why it was so cheap !!!!! )
anyway, I was getting a bit hacked off by the fact we coudn't get to the swim up pool bar most days, so I got all our fellow brits together and declared a 'brit only' pool party and , bless him, Angel, the barman said he would try and concoct a cocktail that would look like the union jack flag !!!!!!! it did turn out purple as u'd imagine and it tasted minging, to this day I can't remember what was in it, but every day, Angel would have a 'brit special ' waiting for us to drink all day, every day !!! didn't have the heart to tell him it was eugh !!!! tell you what though, it grought all the nationalities together, as everyone was eager to try this 'brit special '!!!

I'm another fan of a real mojito, had my first one in havana at earnest hemmingways favourite haunt, delicious !!!! that was the year after mexico, much better than that 'brit special' !!!

I love a good cocktail but none stand out as being the 'best'. However, I have a tendency to choose one that isn't the fanciest looking or the yummiest tasting but has the most alcohol content.

Long Island Iced Tea. Made properly, even though it's got about 5/6 spirits in it, it does taste a bit like tea. :cheers

I've been perfecting them even further since the original post! The new crushed ice maker does a grand job but if you're not careful the ice melts far too quickly, so now the rum and fizzy water live permenently in the fridge so they start off as cold as possible. And I also now use a cocktail shaker to mix the rum, lime juice and suger and mash the mint, give it all a good shake with ice cubes - which really helps mash the mint and releases the oils in the mint - then strain it into glasses over the crush iced and add a sprig of fresh mint.

Must remember to get some mint in for the weekend ;)

Regards,

SM

Mines has to be purple rains in jamaica. The only problem was if you spilled any it would stain your clothes! I just made sure every last drop went in my mouth haha! :cheers

The best cocktail I have ever had, was a Winky Woo! Yes, that's it's name! :haha

Made up and bought for me in the exotic location of the British Legion lounge near my parents house! :rofl

I'll have to get the ingredients off my mum later when I ring her, then I'll post them on here. :)

I think my tastiest drink ever was the Bellini I had in Odette's restaurant on primrose Hill, London, a fortnight ago. It was out of this world - proper champagne and raspberry schnaps, complete with a cherry in the bottom of the glass. Yummy :cheers
