I would imagine that Platinum insurance is full coverage, therefore you would be covered even if an accident was deemed to be your fault. However, I don't know what the limits would be in terms of what the insurance pays out for medical bills and so on, since those limits vary from state to state and, obviously, from one insurance package to another. You should call Virgin to double check with them.
Regarding sat nav, what kind of car (in terms of size etc) do you have booked? It's possible some of the more expensive options come with sat nav (e.g. Cadillac Escalade, possibly) or you could call Virgin and tell them you want sat nav as an optional extra. However, it is likely they will charge you for this and, hey, you can always just buy a map.
Dodge Neon isn't so great, though. lol

No thats not the case. Its just a marketing ploy where you pay extra and get a tank of fuel and are allowed more drivers. The insurance is exactly the same as the standard package.
Terry
is that really true because I'm just about to book our car hire for may with airline network and I was going to pay the extra!!
actually,it doesn't matter as the difference is only £12

That's why I said "I imagine" and also recommended contacting Virgin to check what the Platinum package covers.
Thats why I replied. You were 'imagining' wrongly.
You might find these "platinum" packages offered by car hire companies vary.
You need to work out what you get for your 12 quid. If it's a tank of petrol, kids car seats, drivers under age 25 cover and a second named driver. It might be a bit of a bargain.
If it's just a tank of petrol it might not be. (Although I dont know how much petrol costs in the US).
I know it's boring, but to be honest there is no substitute for 'reading the small print' on these documents. (or the web-sites you are booking it through).
hi doepsmc, the car is with airline network,7 seater with all the usual stuff.the £12 extra gets you a full tank of petrol and all additional drivers over 25(which is me!!!)this is quite good as dollar ripped us off a few years ago for exactly the same extras to the tune of £80 on our credit card when we got home.the last thing you need after a long flight is to be reading the small print and they probably knew that!!
Terry, just let it go. Really.
I'd be grateful if you both would, please
Sounds like you have a much better deal this time round. Enjoy.
hi all i need to book car hire for in 3 weeks time at orlando airport.can any one recommend a hire company that doesnt leave you standing in a que for an hour?or am i asking too much?any help appreciated... only 3 weeks to go
I don't know about MCO but we have used Alamo and Dollar at Sanford. Queued at Alamo of over an hour, dut dollar was alot more efficient, in and out in no time. Don't know if this was also because Sanford is not as big an airport.
ok thanks aileen...i've never been to sanford so i don't know what its like.my in laws are in florida at the moment and they say that the que to get a car with national was a nightmare,so i'm avoiding them..any more info would be appreciated ps....who do airline network get their cars with?
it's been 10 years since I last visited Orlando and I need some one to help refresh my brain.
I will be hiring a 12 seater van and need to know what if extra insurance I need, I remember and have read about CDW but I am certain you can have a level higher however do I need ?
Thanks
Paul
Best to get an all inclusive deal from HolidayAutos, UsRentacar or the like.
Try this site click on Florida Car Hire
Airline-network use dollar car for the US cars. We've used them lots of times, no problems at all and airline-network are usually the cheapest (up with usrentacar).
