Our first family trip here was fantastic even though our youngest son came down with chicken pox and we ended up having to stay an extra six days over the Chrsitmas period. Thank God for travel insurance...and Top Danmark!!!! The staff at the Palm Garden apartments were fantastic as was the accomodation and the food. We found a great restaurant called Laja about a 15 minute walk via the beach towards Moro Jable. If you get there try number 4 on the starters...great. Also find the Tapas bar near the Aloe vera info center.

But be warned about shops selling electrical goods. there are some other posts on this site that mention problems in this area. Here is my experience. My brother in law wished to purchase a DV cam (Sony something with a 60g hdd and 25 optic zoom) which was retailing at a good price (150 euros I think). We went into the store and asked to see the item. The assistant offered him a free case and a discount of about 45 euros making the item cost approx 105 euros, which he wrote on a business card and gave to us. I asked to see the warranty information which he then pulled of the shelf behind him, not from the box the item was in! As we were discussing the purchase I advised my BIL to test the item over night and if it fails return it in the morning for a refund. I also told him to beware that the product may have been destined for a different market i.e. South Africa (first place i could think of but it could have been anywhere) or elsewhere and he may not be able to register the item when he returns to Denmark and may then have to may a lot of money for repairs in case it fails. The store owner at this point interjected and asked what we were talking about and I told him we were discussing the item. He then got a hostile and demanded we leave his store as he "didnt need our crap" and "has plenty of other customer". This was a discussion on the pros and cons of buying a product and he did not like it. He took back his business card. As we left three of his guys came to the door from the sides and watched us. A little disconcerting. The store is beside Zalt and Pepa on the right as you look at it.

So..if the deal is too good to be true it probably is. High pressure sales techniques not a good thing. I suggest you avoid purchasing electrical goods from these tourist stores.

All in all we had a great vacation and I kinda got a tan (Irish...fair skin...unbelivable) :)
