hi shirley...Im not a great lover of change either...my initial reaction is .... and then to hide in the nearest corner for a while till I feel safe to come out...surprises shake my equilibrium...and people dont always get the reaction they were expecting...its not that I dont appreciate the nice surprise...but I like to stay safe in my own little comfort zone...where Im naturaly at my best....

Thats where my nosey side comes from...it warns me to be prepared for the future...because change is enevitable in a proggressive world...or it could stagnate and die off...

So like you I dont want to log on one morning ...and find myself in a place where I feel like a stranger...and want to start running back to some where that no longer exists....I would feel homeless...

I believe TING and TONG have HT's interest at heart...they were concerned and commited to rescue it...and have a vision of its future....they understand that the lifes blood of HT are its members ....and it is pumped round by its heart which are its MODS and ADM....and will understand the simple fact that it doesnt matter how you dress a body it cant live minus its heart and blood supply...

I think TING and TONG by now are getting frustrated when they have this glorious exciting and fresh start ...they cant wait to show off...by the glitches ect slowing them down....and knowing we are afraid about how HT will change...but unable to reassure us worriers ....there will be a reason...even if its just they want to give us a big surprise....we might cower at the idea...but most will enjoy the big hoo haa when it comes...and TING and TONG are buzzin just contemplating the reaction...

So be gentle with us faint hearted TING and TONG...Im sure as long as you dont throw the baby out with the bath water things will turn out just fine... one each....tweetie

I think if they want to remain anonymous they should be allowed to and it is their perogative. I dont really like to see them being put under undue pressure in this way.

Surely it is enough that they have been prepared to come up with the money and are prepared to devote their not inconsiderable time to keep the site going. It's more than any others have done.

I've been a member 6 years and never felt I knew Van, think it was 2 years before I even saw a post from him.

I dont see how people will feel like stangers as the membership will mainly be the same.

Yes you are right...just explaining my initial reaction to a massive decor and format change...all in one go .

Its like someone came in the night and completely redecorated your bedroom...as a surprise...changed colour sceme ...room layout...curtains...and even the bed...the only thing that had been left untouched was your nightie...oh and they'd left your curlers in ....and you slept through it all ...then woke alone

The family ect were all still in the house saying "wow she will love it "...all there just had normal....it would take time to get over the changes...and realise you were still at home...just the decor had changed....tweetie

I think Tweetie is refering to any planned future changes. None have been annouced yet.

hi miss pink....at the moment things are or seem just the same...just a bit quicker and smoother for me...if there has been any changes they arent noticable...except some one noticed the sun's were shorter and fatter...

There is or has got to be various reasons why they want to remain anonymous, reasons that cannot be explained because of other reasons, and I do not like to see them put under any pressure in any way by ANYBODY to please a few individuals..... who quite frankly will either like or dislike any changes which may be coming.

Nor me either and there's always the possiblity that should a new format emerge, it may attract new members and things are running quicker on the new servers with or without the smilie stretched sun.
You can either stay with your slippers or put your dancing shoes on and come along for the very exciting ride.
But remember TNG and TONG are the pipers and they play the tune.

yes, it's the independent bit I was mostly worried about which is why I brought it up, as until the question was broached, we didn't know for sure

TNG & TONG are in the process of updating our site, they have already stated HT will remain independent, they have also stated that there will be no change in the day to day running of the site ..
so tough luck your stuck with the current mods and admin,

we like the members have been given tantalising hint as to the future of the new vitalised HT, and like many of you we are looking forward to seeing what's afoot, and remember a board such as this is only as good as its members, TNG is investing in our future, Now I ask all of you to invest some time and effort to bring us back towards the premier spot, Make sure you read and help wherever possible the newer members and above all Please post up to date resort and hotel reports and recommend HT to anyone who asks about holidays

The general operation of HT WILL NOT CHANGE, we are keeping the same phpbb forum code, same amazing mod and admin team and the same rules etc will apply. Sure the look may change, but it will still be your beloved HT, albiet with some new wallpaper and fresh curtains. No Nets though, I hate nets.

Give us some time and we will incorperate all your pics and videos from the media site into the mainsite and tie them against your usernames too. One major change, is that the hotel reviews are getting an overhual and will be moved onto the same domain as the forums.

That should give you something mull over for now
