Looking at booking a Caribbean cruise (Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent etc) for December 2008. Have looked at various companies/ships etc & really fancy P&O's new ship (Ventura), plus they've got the dates we want. Have been on website & they seem to have some good discounts on there for booking early, works out around £3600 for 2 for 14 nights (cabin with balcony) which according to them is a saving of over £1000 per person. I just wondered if this really is a discount or if I in another 6 months i'm going to go on the website & find it cheaper & having never done a cruise before I'd just like some opinions please! And if anybody's been with P&O i'd like their comments as well!

PS - And should weather be ok in December...?!
Leadin prices for early dec are <£1k on the likes of Princess, check t he pricing for this Dec to get an idea of what late booking would get you.
Depends if you think a balcony will be worth the extra I don't because it pays for another cruise.
we booked april 06 and paid just over a £1000 (pp) for an inside room
they are selling them now at £1600+ so my impression is get in first! not last!
we have also been upgraded by 5 grades too...
i also agree that a balcony just isnt worth the ££££ cheapest one is £1900 (pp) so from your inside to balcony it would cost a couple upwards of £600 extra... not worth the money IMO
