I think you mean paragliding as they launch from the hill top rather than jump out of an aircraft! Yes, it's safe as long as you go with a reputable supplier. Expect to pay around £75. I would check your holiday insurance to make sure you're covered for dangerous sport before you decide on it.

2 years ago i paid £55 but some others paid more and some less so i guess the best thing to do is either barter or han around about 5 mins before the leave for the mountains and see if you can get a good deal then.
I know there were other companies offering jumps from as little as £45 but when speaking to them Skysports seemed a bit more professional and worth paying that little bit more for. I believe Ikarus charge similar rates to Skysports and are also viewed as one of the better companies to use.
Hi I have done the jump twice and it is an amazing experience. I did it with the company who work at Lykia World. As for is it safe? Well there have been deaths and injuries from that mountain but there are thousands who do it safely. I felt as though they made it as safe as possible with weight restrictions and they don't fly if there is adverse weather such as wind. You need to check on insurance cover as I'm not sure your travel insurance would cover it. I paid about £80 and that was a few years ago but they said it included insurance. I think we could have got it cheaper.
as said previously make sure you are covered on your insurance under extreme sports and activities
yes it is safe just do as the instructor tells you and you will experience something truely amazing
the cost varies on how hard you barter in may when you are going it is just the begining so you might be able to get a flight for as little os £45
you have lots of different companies with all different prices try focus, sky sports,
How long will I be in the air?
Each flight duration is a minimum of 25 minutes depending on the weather conditions which contribute to the thermal lift. With the right conditions your pilot will strive to fly you for 45minutes (if not more!!)
What do I need to wear?
Skysports provide a flying suit for each passenger so all you need is some comfortable clothing and a sturdy pair of shoes (ie trainers).
What do I need to take with me?
Sunglasses, a bottle of water and don't forget your camera!

Thanks Maverick and others.at that price what have i got to loose (exept my life )you say that you take water and a camera with you? i for some reason thought that the wind blowing in your face would make drinking and photo shoots out of the question!I will definatley take out adequet holiday insurance to cover this as if anything did go wrong it would be a double wammy for my wife( even a triple wammy as it would probably spoil the rest of her holiday )
You'll need the water for the truck drive up, it is long, bumpy and dusty. Personally I would ditch the water bottle before you jump. A camera is no problem but I would securely fasten it to your person. It's a long way down if you drop it! We had videos made of us by the pilot. I'm not so sure you would get holiday insurance to cover it. The company we flew with said their insurance covered it but I think we were a bit complacent about it and didn't check the wording (probably in Turkish anyway).
The price was £70, but this did include Thomson's insurance as a standard holiday policy will not cover you.
Cloudy on top on the day I went, so we went off the alternate launch site - 1000m instead of 2500m or so. Was still excellent trip and next time in Olu, I'll do it again only off the big one this time.
Would go with one of the larger firms, though. Could not fault Sky as their whole approach was very professional and I always felt secure in the hands of the pilot.
My pilot was on the mobile phone while we were coming down so I'm pretty sure you can drink some water and take photos - I've got some of the best photos ever from my trip.
Enjoy - I wish we were going back to Olu to do it again but we have been bitten by the Antalya bug and going back there again this year!!

a very long way this is best done when holidaying in olu deniz, hisaronu or ovacik or even fethiye
I managed to get holiday insurance that covered tandem parasending at a very good price however with the current situation re. ash clouds it might be the only way that we get to Turkey will be by parachute towed by a boat, train or car.
Hi folks, someone mentioned weight restrictions when doing a jump and I'm just wondering if they weigh you? my mate's going to hisa in june with his wife who is a large lass and has always fancied doing a jump but she is very large, about 20 stone plus. bless her she has lost 3 stone since september after having a gastric band fitted but i know she'd love to to a jump in june but would feel embarassed if she was over the weight limit.
Yes there is a weight limit. When I did it I think they said it was around 100kg. I had to stand on the scales (cringe). I think you had better contact one of the companies as 20 stone is well over that.
Hello John,
The equipment, plus the weight of the pilot and the passenger together cannot be more then 235 kg.
For safety reasons our company puts the limit on 110 kg for the passenger.
We did fly some who were heavier than that but it depends on the level of fitness of the passenger. In this case the pilot make the decision.
I can not give you the maximum waist size for the harness. I might be able to find out and get back to you.
Kind regards,

hope this helps some of you
I certainly wouldnt entertain this without adequate insurance! They land between the beach and the cafe/bars, a pretty small strip and without much room for error... I am sure that we read there was an accident just after we returned last year. I read about a quad bike accident recently in Egypt where the guy didnt have insurance cover and ended up with a horrendous medical bill.
Maverick mate, that's really kind of you to get that info for me. I had a word with my mate and he said his wife is just a bit over 20 stone but I dont know what that is in kgs? I told him there's a waist restriction size for the belt harness and he said that she needs a seatbelt extension when she goes on a plane so I haven't got a clue what her waist measurement is and my mate doesn't know either. If I had to guess I'd say she was about 60 inch waist? Bit more maybe? Do you know what the waist size the harnesses go up to?
cheers mate

20 stone is 127 kilos
