Hi Horse & welcome to the forum; What are you doing Fiona, trying to put horse of going to Goa? i read the report on the accommodation and it wouldn't make me want to go there .
The good thing is though, as previously mentioned so many times before if you dont like the accommodation you can always have a look around and find alternative.
seriously Horse you'll love it (Goa that is)

dont be too put off - everyone has different expectations of places/hotels etc. goa accomodation star ratings according to the uk brochures are different to other places you might have been, i know comparing goa hotels say a 3 star to somewhere like malaysia the malaysian 3 star are like 5 star,whereas the places in goa tend to be basic.

when we went on our 1st trip we arrived at the osborne hotel in calangute & were shown to a very small grotty hole of a room in phase1, we werent told that this was just to use till our room was ready & we thought 'omg!!!!!!!!!!! cant stay in this dump for 2 weeks!!!! anyway we complained, were moved & even though our rooms were still basic they were fine & we ended up having a fab time & for our 4th trip are going back to the osborne again. we only used the room for sleep & showering & spent all day out & about.

you also as said can get alternative accomodation there cheaply and if you really hate the room youre shown when you arrive go back to reception & ask to be moved. im sure you'll have a fantastic time
