hi we are going to hollywell bay which is a parkdean camp next year. what are parkdean like as a company. we have always been with haven holidays but fancied this for a change, we absolutley love haven do yoo think we might enjoy this one?

Like you, we love Haven Holidays too and were nervous about going elsewhere with a different company.
However we found the facilities better, staff brilliant and more activities for the kids (ours were 10, 7, 6). Also the staff did not keep trying to sell us things which we found always happened at Haven.
We also found that the caravan was spotless when we got there (something we had issues with at Haven) and that all the Parkdean staff (reception/facilities/housekeeping) could not have done more. My husband was not well on holiday and they arranged for a local GP to contact our GP and issue an emergency prescription for him, plus they loaned us a walking stick as his foot was so swollen he could not walk on it.
Hope that helps!!! (Also found Parkdean cheaper than Haven which was an added bonus and their bar staff served in order to the bar and not which woman was the youngest/most made up etc!)

thanks, we went to hollywell bay about 4 yrs ago but it wasnt a parkdean then. as long as the caravan is clean, we are staying in a halford, and mini disco im sure we cant go wrong. it sounds like we should have a fab time. thanks again for your help.

we are the next junction up on the M4 ,and are often in Porthcawl as we have 2 sons ,who love the pool / jungle jims and of course the beaches

hi anyone been to hayling island(parkdean) and if so what is like for families and as we don't have a car is the public transport any good and frequent into portsmouth? many thanks for all replies

parkdean have spent well over a million pounds on this site this year. The new bar is now called the sportsmans , But the beer have gone up to £3 a pint since the improvements.

going to parkdean hollywell bay in a few weeks, in a helford 2 bedroom caravan, i think it is meant to be the cheapest, but just wondered if anyone else has stayed in one of these and if theryre spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids 12 and 6(going on 16) im jsut hoping we wont be toocramped for 2 weeks

We are thinking of going to Trecco bay - does anyone know if there is anything outised the camp (pardean) like a pub or little town ?

We dont want to be stranded with only the park facilites to use (we want to go Feb)

Porthcawl is a fair sized town

with many eateries,pubs etc and fab beaches / walks etc

Bridgend with the Mc Arthur Glen designer outlet is 10 mins away ( next junction up, along the M4)

And Bridgend town with more shops than Porthcawl, and a market too

Is porthcawl easy to walk to from the parkdean site ?

yes very easy
go through the site,along the beach and past the fun fair

and then you can cross over the road, to head towards the shops

or keep going round,along the promenade

Agree with above, nice stroll along the seafront, takes about 10 minutes, we've been there twice & have always had a great time with the nippers

Just to add the Fun Fair is not open until at least Easter.
