dont laugh - my gran is 86 and travelling from edinburgh to stanstead with easy jet.
She knows she needs to take photographic ID and apart from an expired passport, the only thing she has is her bus pass!
Will she be refused from flying - she is at a loss as to what to take with her. Sounds funny I know but I dont want my poor granny stranded at the airport!
It is entirely up to Easyjet what they accept on internal flights, you should contact them.
Last I heard they will accept expired passports as enough photo ID, but it's always best to check with them just in case.
Hope this helps.
Thanks clownboy- I will contact easyjet on her behalf - she says she doesnt want to phone them in cast they say no(!) and that she will just wing it on the day! I think not - I'II phone them.
Does anyone know if there is an e mail address for easyjet so I can get an answer back?
Thanks!
Couldn't find an email addres for them on the site. However if you click on FAQ's there are 2 tabs at the top "Answers" and "Still stuck?" Click on Still stuck and it will take you to an email form you can complete.

Thanks Luci, I've eventually emailed Easy jet - but I have a feeling it will be the train for dear old granny!
In case anyone wants to know for future reference - I got an e mail back from easyjet today (quick!) and they say my grannie will be fine with her bus pass as long as it looks like her, has her name on it that matches the name of the flight booking - phew, thank goodness, my grannie can fly now (good on her for an 86 year old!)
julie if i was you id print the email and get your gran to take it with her, just in case.
Great news, but I would second what Audbod says about taking a copy of the email.
Going to Spain at the end of the month and my wife's passport runs out on the 10th September. We come home on the 3rd June. I am right thinking that you only need 3 months left on your passport for Spain?
Hi kirkie .... official entry requirements for Spain stipulate that passports require to be valid only for the duration of your stay in the country. However, your airline or tour operator may have different rules, and could perhaps stipulate a minimum 6 month passport validity for all destinations. If that is the case, you would have to comply with their requirements.
It is booked with Direct Holidays and they were not too sure, but thought it was the 3 month rule...
I believe their parent company MyTravel stipulate a minimum 6 month validity period for all destinations.

Just looking at the tickets and it states British Midland are the carrier. Should I ring them?
THIS page on the same site, which specifies a minimum 6 month validity requirement.
The safest option would be for your wife to renew her passport now, and have the remaining months transferred to the new passport. For details of online passport renewals, please click here.

Kirkie ... it's difficult to tell whether your check-in would be handled by Direct Holidays, MyTravel or British Midland, and who's rules would therefore apply. But just to confuse things, unfortunately that page on the MyTravel site is contradicted by The safest option would be for your wife to renew her passport now, and have the remaining months transferred to the new passport. Hi Karen ... I personally am not familiar with the passport requirements for Egypt, but our Egypt forum does have its own David
thanks for that. never thought to look there, going to have a quick look now
You will be allowed to leave the UK and enter the UK as long as you have a valid passport,ie it is not expired. You have to check with the country to which you are travelling to see what rules they have in terms of passports. For example Gran Canaria allows you to enter/exit as long as you have a valid passport.
This is the information I got from the passport office and the Spanish consulate.Hope this helps.
