It'll be OK as long as the child is under 16 years on their return.

You know the way some countries insist that your passport is NOT within 6/3 months of expiry for your holiday.
Does Turkey have any rules concerning this?
Our hol is in May & my husbands passport runs out in Sep, so 4 months BEFORE expiry.
Is this OK for Turkey?
When can you apply for a new one? Is there a period of time before your old one runs out?

Thanks

Hi Kim

Your husband will need to renew his passport before he goes he must have 6 months visa on it.

Lynn is correct he must have at least 6 months left otherwise he will be refused entry.

From the passport office website:-

You can renew a passport up to nine months before it runs out. If you do this we will put a credit on your new passport for the unused time (in whole months) that was left on your old passport the day the new one was issued.

We've just renewed ours and it took less than 2 weeks. Bloody expensive, these holidays!!

66 divide by 10 = £6.60 not bad. £6.60 a year

Yes, but however you divide it, it's still a nearly 40% increase.
That's what my comment was on the size of the increase.

I have decided not to renew my passport when it runs out 2010.What will airlines accept for domestic flights?

i agree with you kim over the last few years it does seems to have shot up a lot in price and also making kids have their own passports too makes it very expensive if the family all needs renewing at the same time, mine needs changing next year and since i paid last time im sure its more than doubled in price !!!

also ive travelled to turkey twice with 4 mths on the kids passports without any probs , i rang the turkish embassy first and they said 3 full mths was enough, i know it states 6 mths on their website so not sure why they told me 3 , its probably best you do change it but if you dont want to then check with the embassy like i did i case over the last year they have changed to a definite 6 mths

Me and hubby just renewed our passports - sent them Recorded Delivery to the Passport Office on Monday 26th Feb and got them back on Saturday 3rd March - extremely quick!! :yikes

My husband and I are hoping to visit Turkey in May. We hold UK passports. His passport runs out in September 2007. Does Turkey require a 6th month period of validity on the passport before letting you in/out?
