Hopefully with the fact that the flights are already available to book, many people will use them this year.

They proved to be very popular this winter.

Update re Dalaman airport - http://www.landoflights.net/detay.asp?hid=375

Just to keep you all updated with the winter flight routes.

http://www.h4u.co.uk are going to continue their Dalaman route from both Gatwick and Manchester through winter 2006/2007, on a Friday.

They are also adding Bodrum flights from both Manchester and Gatwick on a weekly basis. Which are on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I have been told that it is possible that you can mix and match these flights, so its possible to fly into either Dalaman or Bodrum and return from Dalaman or Bodrum, so that its possible to do 3/4/10 and 11 night durations.

In addition to these flights, Thomas Cook have contacted me this week to tell me they are operating a direct flight to Dalaman during winter 2006/2007 they did tell me it would be on a Friday from Gatwick, but when you check the web site, it shows the flights as being on a Monday.

It will be good news for turkey (and visitors) if flights go in over the winter. I have just bought off-plan property in the Tuzla Lake area of Bodrum - quite close to Bodrum-Milas airport. Bodrum looks like a boom area at the moment and with golf going in now (the new Vita Park Golf Resort is a stones throw from our properties) plus the possibility of flights all year - holidays in this fantastic country look set to expand.

All the best

I see flights from gatwick near the end of February for £110 each.

If that is expensive then what is cheap?

I have been to Spain a few times since xmas and I wish I had only paid £110 for my flight

People should understand that these winter fights are going to be full of flight only reservations - with people with properties in the area. IE, people who do not want accomodation from which the Tour Ops can make additional profit. It is there as a service. The earlier you book, the better the price. You can't expect to pay a budget price for flight only in off-season when everyone else is looking for the same bargain.

Anyone that wishes to choose departure time, airport, and book their own transfers must understand that the tour op has to make a profit from somewhere.

If you believe we should all be able to fly to Turkey on a 4 - 4.5 hour flight for less than £150 average then you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

How many times have you been on your budegt flight, in your budget hotel, and been able to say to some poor soul that you have paid half the price that they have?

I generally book D-I-Y to Turkey, and have had some great flight prices, including this Summer '07 to Antalya with First Choice at an unbelievable £97.50 pp. However, over the last 10 years the average price is probably closer to £150 pp flight only.

Anyone who can be flexible with their times and wishes to take the cheapest offer available will always be able to find the 7 days - £139 deal.

I for one wouldn't have one given me!!!
