We're looking at one camp site in particular for summer 2006 but they allow pets. The camp site we stayed at this year had a NO PET policy and I have to say the site was immaculate.
Does allowing pets bring down the cleanliness of the site? Last thing we want is dog doings everywhere and barking all day & night. I'm sure the sites operate a pick up policy for dogs....
Would like to hear from anybody who has stayed at a camp site witha pet policy.
Basically, yes, there is some noise disturbance from dogs on site, especially if there's a nice moon shining. My next door neighbours had three poodles and my son was terrified of them.
I doubt having dogs on site would ruin your holiday but I would opt for a site minus the animals.
Sins
Pets are allowed on a majority of campsites abroad in fact it can get quite amusing to see the Dutch walking their rabbits and the Germans with their cats and ferrets all on leads and carrying pooper scoops
Best site this year for pets in Spain was Interpals in Platja de Pals Costa Brava loads of doggies cats and others not a sound out of 99% of them (site didn't allow Rottes or Mastiffs and Pit bulls)
but the local restaurants were excellent even to giving the dogs a tidbit bowl when you were served
Yes dogs were allowed in restaurants out there it only the yUK that sticks to EU rules
We are definitely taking ours next year

We went to a small site in Cornwall in July that had a no dogs policy, but nearly every night were kept awake by dogs, at least 2, barking fit to wake the dead, and on 2 nights the dogs were running all over the site looking and sounding quite vicious. Trouble was, no-one knew where they came from, or weren`t admitting to it,
Shell island allow dogs, for a pound a day, I can't say I noticed any problems with noise. The only problem we had was walking past a pitch where one was chained up outside. Everybody had pooper scoopers and there are special bins for dog waste.
