Hi All,
Remember when I was in Rhodes Town about 5 or 6 years ago when we visited RT I saw a pub with a Pirate outside.
Not sure if this is the same one, but is it pretty near the front of the town (i.e. at the water)?
I did look up the net and came across a pub called Blue Lagoon - The Pirate Pub but it said it had a swimming pool, but I didn't think the pub I saw was that big.
Is the pub still there? Is it the same pub? Anyone been in there and what was it like?
Cheers in advance.

It's completely open air (so don't bother on a cool night!) with a pirate/caribbean theme, a bit scruffy in parts now but still an interesting place to stop for a drink. There's several different seating areas so you can sit down from or right by the water, even inside part of a ship that sits on the pool, the so called swimming pool! On busier nights they sometimes have a couple of guys dressed as pirates sword fighting, fire eaters, etc.
keen as the loos are vile and the soft drinks are always poured from 2 litre bottles and are sometimes flat. That said, we always go there a couple of times per holiday and the staff are friendly and remember you if you are a fairly regular visitor. I think this place is more attractive at night when the pool and galleon are lit up and the toilets are dim. It attracts a younger crowd at night.
If you have kids its great for them during the day. We went the last couple of weeks of Oct and my 2 boys had 2 massive floors of entertainment, including a bouncy castle, football cage and ball pool to themselves.
Tbh, I think I'm going a bit doo-wally as for some reason I'm just infatuated with Pirates at the moment, it's that bloody Pirates of the Caribbean that's got me this way. Just thought it would be a good day out.
We have a little girl who is only coming up for 2, but to be brutally honest it's for my enjoyment and no-one else's. Although do think the little one would quite like it.
I am thinking of hiring a car, so it will defo be a place to go. However I was wondering about buses to Rhodes Town from Lindos. Any idea on the cost and when the buses stop? If there are any?
Although it probably isn't the cheapest, I'm not sure if tour operators do trips to Rhodes, even night trips to the place?

There are regular buses to Rhodes Town, most leave from Krana Hill up above the village. There's a timetable in the kiosk in Lindos Main Square and another up by the bus stop, last time i took the bus it was 4 euros single and children go free. Buses only run during the day though so if you fancy a night in Rhodes Town you'll need a taxi back (around 40 euros) or i've often found it's just as cheap to book a hotel room for the night.
Think I'll go for the car just for 2 or 3 days though and get the family around the Island.
I can always drive upto RT and then jump in for a little look around.
