Hi twohats
Petsas - email for a quote, ignore website prices.
Shopping: there are a couple of mini markets in the village plus a bakery and a butchers; a mini market by the beach; a mini market opposite the police station on the old main road, plus another butchers and a petrol station.
We always have a car (you do need one in Pissouri) so shop at Orphanides, Paphos for our first shopping session as it's the nearest proper supermarket.
Eating, personal recommendations: The Hideaway and Vraka Tavern in the village; Perry's by the beach, Kyrenia Tavern in Avdimou Beach.
Never been but, The Bunch of Grapes in the village and The Liminaki by the beach come highly recommended.
There's a wealth of information about Pissouri here

Careful when swimming on Pissouri beach, there are stone fish in some areas there, best to wear rubber shoes, I have seen a couple of kids and an adult get stung there, very painful I can assure you, better to be safe than sorry, many forget this is a problem on this beach!
Just to say like Mark one of my favourite areas for a holiday, quiet though and as Mark says a car is essential in my opinion,
Pissouri now getting developed so enjoy it while you can.
Have a great stay..
can anyone give me an idea of prices please
pint of beer, bottle of water, a general meal etc to get an idea
thanks for your time

Jim..
''water'' stick to tap water it is perfect here, make sure you use the small tap on your sink...if you have one.
2 weeks to go
Twohats - when will you be at Hylatio? We are going on Sunday for 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it - have never been to Cyprus before either. I have been emailing the resort and Nicos (son of the owner) is arranging car hire for us for a week during our stay. We can pay when we get there apparently rather than doing so over the internet. I haven't seen one bad review of the place anywhere, all have been really positive. maybe see you there? Louise
might just catch you there
We are planning our next years holiday, we are thinking of Pissouri Bay this time (10th visit to Cyprus), can anyone give information on self catering appartments, who to avoid and reccomendations etc, also eating places, bars etc
As stated in a previous post thinking of bringing family to Pissouri Bay/beach area, have stayed in pathos previous 9 visits incuding this year and throuloghly enjoyed it, but its now time for a change, Ive had a look at some of the accomodation on the web, and to be honest it all sounds great, BUT i am concerned about some of the things ive read in reports about various people/places, in a particular report it states "dont go near" refering to Perrys, is this the accomodation or the resteraunt, as both have very good reports, also the military aspect, having once been a member of HM Forces myself, (many many moons ago) I know what things can be like once the lads get on the ale, (Guilty Mu Lord) but now a very reformed charracter.
We are going to the Hylatio Village in August, i have read the review on here & was wondering if anyone has been there recently. What people think of pissouri & the Hylatio village
many thanks
Gazz
3 supermarkets in the village, 2 in the bay.
3 takeaways in the village.
Umpteen restaurants to choose from in both areas. My favourites in the village:
The Hideaway; The Bunch of Grapes, The Moonlight; Vrakas.
Only used 2 places in the bay for evening meals, Perry's and The Vine Leaf, Would use both again.
Have a look here. It's an excellent source of information on Pissouri.
Mark
